Reporting to the Manager of Operations Program Engineering, the incumbent will assist the OBM team with monthly financial and budgetary planning.
Specific duties to include:
Assist in the generation of proposals, including basis of estimates, resource codes, rational estimates, bid codes, overhead, and labor rates.
Involvement with proposal kickoffs, BOE development, and pricing in conjunction with the OPM.
Work with the Proposal Core Team members to ensure adequate and compliant proposal submissions per customer requirements.
Assist in the development of WSAs/WADRs, Comp EACs, and single point adjustments with the OPMs and Program Finance.
Candidates should have some knowledge of Earned Value and Earned Value concepts. Ensure timely and accurate monthly/weekly program earned value (EV) metrics. This planning position will interface with the OPMs and OBMs to provide comprehensive financial analysis to identify and assist in mitigating program risks.
Provide Weekly/Monthly Data and Analysis regarding Support for Tough Labor trending.
Effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
Attention to detail and accuracy.

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support to various engineering teams and collaborate with Quality, Tooling Engineers, Maintenance, Process Engineers, and Project Engineers. This role supports Production teams in achieving safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives. You will be instrumental in implementing new products and working with commercial teams to bring new opportunities into the plant, ensuring these projects progress efficiently through theory, trial, phase, commercial, and manufacturing stages. Responsibilities
+ Solve problems on the factory floor and act as the primary technical resource to resolve production issues.
+ Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis activities, and implement long-term solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
+ Develop and implement process improvements.
+ Generate and keep all manufacturing documentation up-to-date, including BOMs, specification changes, ECOs, reports, print revisions, fixturing, and protocols.

Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $23.00 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications. **Responsibilities**

You will work the 1st shift from Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm, with Friday being optional.

Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Cost Calculator. The Manufacturing Cost Calculator will be responsible for performing functions to determine accurate cost of producing manufactured product; including determining proper material, outside operations, labor and machine to be utilized in production process for each part quoted. Work across other departments to derive information needed. Perform analysis on large vendor pricing for obtaining the best possible cost of each material and/or service purchased. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully onsite.
Base Salary Range: $56,000 - $79,000
May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
- Provide timely manufacturing product quotes based on customer requirements to existing & potential customer base.
- Develops and maintain performance metrics for quoting team (i.e. completion to target, Com. Ex.).
- Source material and outside operations requests with vendors.
- Conduct Contract Review as to verify that all correct information is included in system prior to initiation of production and costs updated.
- Assist outside & inside sales representatives to service potential and existing customers as requested.
- Identify additional supplier options able to provide competitive quality products on time.
- Identify secondary sources of supply, when applicable.
- Investigate and research new materials, suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery and achieve operational excellence.
- Keep abreast of materials and material pricing trends that effect company products. Share this with our management team, as appropriate.
- Participate in APQP meetings and process to ensure new products costs within budget.
- Maintains standard metals pricing and stocking lists from metals suppliers.
- Lead project teams to accomplish MBP's goals, as related to our Annual Strategic Goals and our Balanced Scorecard initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge of processing rates and methods from operations to accurately quote.
Qualifications:
- Ability to create written and verbal instructions
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced blueprint reading
- Knowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials
- Knowledgeable in heat treating and metals processing
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Background in CNC turning and milling
- Knowledge of aerospace flow down requirements COURSEWORK OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's preferred
- 5 years manufacturing experience in a CNC turning job shop required
- Knowledge of Aerospace product processing and approved sources
- Previous quoting experience with Aerospace OEM products (Raytheon, Bell, HDI, Collins)
- Experience with copper-based alloys preferred
- Previous experience completing CNC set-ups and operations preferable
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost calculating for manufactured products
- Strong math skills and attention to detail, accuracy is a must
