Job Description
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the design, development, assembly, debugging, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, extrusion tooling, and secondary equipment for new and existing products.
+ Develop machine specifications, identify and evaluate suppliers, and procure, install, and debug equipment from external suppliers for general manufacturing, extrusion equipment, and secondary processes.
+ Plan, coordinate, develop, and execute test protocols, experiments, process characterization, and process validations for new and revised products and processes.
+ Coordinate efforts to design, develop, and validate manufacturing processes using tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and capability analysis.
+ Ensure adherence to appropriate QA/RA SOPs on all projects, including equipment development processes, product development processes, process controls, process validations, and the ECO system.
+ Provide support for GMP, safety, ISO, and internal audits as required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $52.00/hr.

Desired skills and experience

  • BS in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quality engineering role (within the medical device manufacturing environment is preferred)
  • Understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Understanding of best practices for cleanroom gowning and cleanliness requirements for manufacturing within a cleanroom.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement projects and using quality tools (e.g., DMAIC, 8D, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE).

In this position, you will assist in the creation of various well-known magazines/catalogs/newspaper inserts and other related products in our Press department .









Essential Duties & Responsibilities









The list of duties and responsibilities may include the following but are not limited to:









Remove the product from the end of the printing press or finishing machine.

Stack loose signatures off a pallet and transfer them to the table then place them into a collator hopper.

Transfer completed bundles of product off the machine conveyor and stack them onto pallets, then place mail bags onto a pallet.

Move product with a hand jack or motorized Raymond or Big Joe lift.

Comply with all quality, safety, and ,work rules and regulations.

Effectively communicate with other members of the staff.

Remove the skids of product using a Big Joe and Hand Truck.

Assist other crew members with various duties including webbing up of the press and/or special handwork in order to meet customer requests.

Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.







Qualifications

The ability to take stacks of loose signatures ranging (5-30 lbs.) off a pallet of up to 48 in height and transfer to table top work surface 42, and then place into a collator hopper.

Ability to transfer completed bundles of product (10-30 lbs.) off machine conveyor and stack onto pallets or into mail bags that potentially weigh from 5 to 75 lbs. Then place mail bags onto pallet.

The ability to use a hand jack or motorized Raymond or Big Joe lift.

The ability to use a computer, scissors, and tape gun.

At least 18-years of age or older.

A solid work history.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

The ability to read and write; possess good verbal and written comprehension.

The flexibility to work 12 hour rotating shifts (either 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $89,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for providing daily direction, support, and guidance to team members. You will guide the production flow of a cell and are responsible for the quality of the product produced and coordinate all the resources and activities within the cell, and must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This position is working a 12-hour shift, 5:45 am- 6 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment. Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Preparing and updating daily production schedules and assigning daily preventative maintenance to Technicians.
  • Utilize all resources (people & equipment) to eliminate backlogs and control production pace.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the training of new Manufacturing Technicians and the cross-training of Manufacturing Technicians within the cell.
  • Monitoring individual Manufacturing technicians productivity and scrap reports and quality of product to aid them in areas needing improvement and providing constructive feedback on their job performance and attitude.
  • Building and maintaining morale, keeping Manufacturing Technicians motivated, and working together as a team.
  • Assisting with production, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting quality and equipment problems.
  • Providing information to the Supervisor regarding the Manufacturing Technician's job performance (production, quality, and attitude) for disciplinary actions and performance reviews.
  • Reviewing manufacturing schedules and production pace of plant, and scrap deviation and quality check reports of the cell.
  • Writing and editing Standard Practices and Standard Procedures of the cell.
  • Maintaining production and safety inventory.
  • Assist in the training of any new hires.
  • Dependable and reliable attendance is required.
  • Back up for other areas if the continuous flow manufacturing process is interrupted to remove any backlogs. This could include working in the Wax Cell, Dip/Dewax, Melt Cell, or Finishing Cell.
  • If certified on the forklift, operating a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, receiving and delivering incoming packages, and shipping packages UPS.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities - None.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Under the direction of and reporting to Plant Manager, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager will develop and implement sustainable, robust and reliable complex manufacturing processes to achieve aggressive cost, quality and throughput goals and objectives.
This position works as a working-manager in a team environment and uses engineering expertise and abilities to contribute to the development and manufacturing of power tool batteries.
**You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:**
Manufacturing Process Development & Maintenance:
+ Strong analytical skills, knowledge, and experience in process evaluation tools: Design of Experiments (DOE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PFMEA, DFMEA, statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools
+ Lead root cause analysis in production environment leveraging tools 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and other RCA tools
+ Develop and implement preventative maintenance plan in production environment
+ Work with Global & Site AME & QE resources to develop innovative manufacturing processes and controls
+ Knowledge and experience in production manufacturing & assembly processes
+ Automation, resistance and laser welding, ultrasonic welding, part handling, etc
+ Expertise in electrical motor manufacturing principles such as winding, fusing, and balancing
+ Develop innovative solutions; implement sustainable, robust and reliable complex manufacturing processes
+ Leverage available machine data for use in process control plans, SPC, and product traceability
+ Work with and lead development with equipment suppliers to deliver custom equipment solutions
+ Research and evaluate new technologies and breakthrough process controls to accelerate competitive manufacturing & quality advantage
+ Utilize prototyping methods to develop and prepare engineering samples for evaluation and testing
+ Perform a variety of calculation and software aided analyses to prove process reliability, capability and sustainability
+ Provide multiple what-if scenarios to find best total cost solution with financial impacts with emphasis on delivery timelines
Project/Team Management Skills:
+ Lead manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance and engineering expertise to cross-functional team members
+ Facilitate project flow involving regular contact with engineering, manufacturing and other cross functional teams when necessary
+ Ability to lead business critical projects to meet product and productivity requirements
+ Excellent verbal and written communication to make formal presentations regarding project status to team and management
+ Provide input with cross functional teams of baseline staffing and skillset required as related to the operational complexity of the process
