The Senior Director Manufacturing is responsible for all safety, quality, operational, and people aspects of the Manufacturing Operations across all manufacturing units in Sparks, MD. Job Description:
The RF Manufacturing Technician is an essential team member, who performs a variety of functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including sub-assembly and product final assembly, calibration, and test. The ideal candidate must possess the initiative to learn with the capability to practically apply the latest information learned on a daily basis. This role requires the ability to perform rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication with contacts inside and outside of the department. They will work alongside engineers to provide a definition of test set-up and calibration tasks as well as collaborating with quality managers and inspection to ensure engineering standards and customer specifications are met.
Essential Functions:
- Production focused activities include set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies following methods, procedures, standards
- Troubleshooting down to the component level
- Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and schematics.
- Dismantle, adjust, repairs, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.
- Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components
- Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
- Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing or testing process.
- Compiles and records test results. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
- Utilizes automated test programs to evaluate product performance against specifications and to collect data demonstrating product performance.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience with formal electronics training via military, trade school or the equivalent
- Must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of RF test equipment such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF generators, digital oscilloscopes, frequency meters and Power meters. RF experience to 26.5 GHz. 40 GHz desired
- Possess analog and digital troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation required
- Good soldering techniques and able to do solder rework using a microscope
- IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications desired
- Team-oriented attitude
- Experience with an ERP system, Epicor is preferred
- Previous experience with LabView or desire to learn to write ATE programs to control test equipment and receivers.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Excel
- Knowledge of safety practices and a demonstrated commitment to maintain them
- ESD Awareness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with solid presentation skills
- Duties will require the ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs
- Must have the ability to obtain security clearance
