Manufacturing & Production Opportunities at Scot Forge

Scot Forge, a 100% employee-owned leader in the open-die and rolled ring forging industry, is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team. We produce high-performance forged components used in critical applications across aerospace, defense, infrastructure, mining, and energy sectors—supporting projects from NASA’s Mars Rover to components for nuclear submarines.

Current Openings & Shifts

  • CNC Operator

Monday – Friday | 4:30 PM – 5:00 AM

  • Material Handler

Monday – Friday | 4:30 PM – 5:00 AM

  • Heat Treat Operator

Sunday – Thursday | 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Please note: A 10% shift premium is offered for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, saws, furnaces, and forging presses

  • Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

  • Adhere to and actively support company safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and computer skills

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, particularly with CNC machinery, blueprint reading, forklift operation, or metal fabrication

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 65 pounds

  • Willingness and ability to work in a physically demanding, industrial environment

The Manufacturing Operations Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that ensure employees in manufacturing operations are fully equipped with the skills, knowledge, and certifications needed to perform their jobs safely and effectively. + Support plastic molding production operations through troubleshooting problems, supporting maintenance, and ensuring equipment is in control.

+ Ability to conceptualize and work with integrators to develop automated solutions for manufacturing processes, assembly and packaging operations.
+ Have basic knowledge in finance to understand concepts of Capital investment, payback, and standard costs.
+ Compile information and data to utilize in determining a business case for manufacturing operations.
+ Responsible for the completion of assigned operations projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
+ Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.
+ Schedules meetings, develops agendas, facilitates and documents project meetings.
+ Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with minimal guidance.
+ Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans.
+ Possess a high sense of urgency and delivering information in a timely manner.
**Education and Experience Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or technical field.
+ Minimum 5 years experience in plastics manufacturing processes (i.e. Injection molding, injection mold tooling).
+ Experience in practical application RJG methodologies (RJG training and certification preferred).
+ Experience successfully managing medium-high complexity projects
+ Must possess a high level of Operations aptitude
+ Excellent problem identification and resolution skills
+ Ability to work hands on with the equipment if needed
+ Strong analytical skills, knowledge and experience in process evaluation tools: statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools
+ Formal project management training preferred

+ Experience with CAD/CAM software associated with sheet metal fabrication equipment
