The Manufacturing Operations Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that ensure employees in manufacturing operations are fully equipped with the skills, knowledge, and certifications needed to perform their jobs safely and effectively. This role oversees facility-wide training activities, ensures compliance with training documentation and standards, partners with local technical schools to build a pipeline of skilled welders and sheet metal fabricators, and assists with tracking and reporting key training and performance metrics.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, hands-on experience with training in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency with training documentation systems, SAP, Quickbase, and Microsoft Office tools.
**Training & Development**
+ Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for welders, sheet metal fabricators, and other manufacturing roles.
+ Conduct onboarding training for new employees and refresher training for current employees.
+ Maintain up-to-date training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and certification records.
+ Ensure all training complies with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
+ Develop cross-training programs to build workforce flexibility.
**Compliance & Documentation**
+ Track and document all training activities to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
+ Maintain accurate training records in SAP, Quickbase, and other designated systems.
+ Audit training files regularly to ensure documentation accuracy and readiness for inspections.
**Partnerships & Workforce Development**
+ Partner with local technical schools, trade programs, and community organizations to develop pipelines for welders, sheet metal fabricators, and other skilled positions.
+ Coordinate internship, apprenticeship, and co-op programs to attract and develop future talent.
+ Represent the company at school advisory boards, career fairs, and technical education events.
**Metrics & Reporting**
+ Assist in tracking training metrics, such as employee certification rates, skill progression, and cross-training coverage.
+ Analyze training data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Provide regular training performance reports to leadership.
**Required Skills & Qualifications:**
+ Proven experience in training, workforce development, or manufacturing supervision.
+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, especially welding and sheet metal fabrication.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
+ Experience using SAP and Quickbase for training or production documentation.
+ Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
+ 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
+ 1 year experience preparing and delivering classroom and hands on training
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Education, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Certified trainer, instructional designer, or workforce development certification.
+ Previous experience coordinating partnerships with technical schools or apprenticeship programs.
**Work Environment**
+ Primarily on-site within a manufacturing facility.

**Job Description:**
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing production support as well as managing multiple moderate to highly complex projects. Individuals in this position will provide project management and necessary technical direction to assure successful and timely implementation.
**Job Responsibilities:**
**Production Support**
+ Support plastic molding production operations through troubleshooting problems, supporting maintenance, and ensuring equipment is in control.
+ Work on continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, this includes any skills as related to project management and vendor relationships.
+ Strong knowledge of robotic programming and troubleshooting required.
+ Knowledge of PLC programming for troubleshooting automated systems a plus.
+ Ability to use statistical process control to define problems and present quick applicable solutions to key stakeholders to implement change.
+ Give direction and training to technicians on manufacturing equipment.
+ Familiar with manufacturing quality systems and how to implement corrective actions and 8D's.
**Project Management**
+ Lead projects by working with cross functional resources focus on plastics injection molding new product launch and mass production manufacturing support for the Hand Tool business unit.
+ Ability to conceptualize and work with integrators to develop automated solutions for manufacturing processes, assembly and packaging operations.
+ Have basic knowledge in finance to understand concepts of Capital investment, payback, and standard costs.
+ Compile information and data to utilize in determining a business case for manufacturing operations.
+ Responsible for the completion of assigned operations projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
+ Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.
+ Schedules meetings, develops agendas, facilitates and documents project meetings.
+ Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with minimal guidance.
+ Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans.
+ Possess a high sense of urgency and delivering information in a timely manner.
**Education and Experience Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or technical field.
+ Minimum 5 years experience in plastics manufacturing processes (i.e. Injection molding, injection mold tooling).
+ Experience in practical application RJG methodologies (RJG training and certification preferred).
+ Experience successfully managing medium-high complexity projects
+ Must possess a high level of Operations aptitude
+ Excellent problem identification and resolution skills
+ Ability to work hands on with the equipment if needed
+ Strong analytical skills, knowledge and experience in process evaluation tools: statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools
+ Formal project management training preferred

+ Experience with CAD/CAM software associated with sheet metal fabrication equipment

+ Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills;
