You will be working with our Methods team to provide quality services to design and implement manufacturing processes that guarantee safety, quality, customer satisfaction and competitiveness. You will interact daily with the line leader, manpower and quality engineers.

As a member of the manufacturing engineering team at Wabtec Passenger Transit, you will be responsible for:
+ Develop, implement and document robust and cost-effective manufacturing processes, work instructions and methods in accordance with product specifications, safety and quality standards, and customer demand.
+ Lead the design of required tooling and accessories.
+ Evaluate design and engineering changes, determine production feasibility, and approve release to manufacturing.
+ Recommend and implement improvements in production processes, methods and controls, using the principles of lean manufacturing.

+ Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related engineering.

**Summary:** Our client is seeking a Skilled Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible in the design, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes. Working collaboratively within a team to improve product quality, enhance production efficiency, and reduce costs. Engineering expertise will be vital in troubleshooting and resolving production issues while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
The primary objective of this role is to lead the launch phase of new projects and products, focusing on the industrialization process after the development stage (Liaison between NPD and Operations). The position ensures smooth transition from product development to full-scale manufacturing by designing and implementing efficient, robust, and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
**Job Duties:**
Process Design & Improvement
+ Act as the main industrial point of contact during the launch in production phase of new projects or products.
+ Design and validate the manufacturing processes for all new projects/products, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
+ Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless handover to operations.
+ Define equipment specifications, tooling needs, and layout requirements for new product lines.
+ Lead the ramp-up and stabilization phase, tracking KPIs and continuous improvement.
+ Support risk analysis, process validation, and documentation in compliance with internal and customer requirements.
+ Contribute to investment planning and cost estimation for industrialization activities.
+ Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to increase production efficiency and reduce waste.
+ Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Provide technical expertise and support for production teams.

Continuous Improvement:

+ Conduct thorough analyses to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste, and develop actionable strategies to enhance productivity and product quality.
Technical Support:
+ Serve as a technical resource for production teams by providing troubleshooting support and innovative solutions to manufacturing challenges.
+ Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance plans that ensure optimal equipment performance.
+ Facilitate technical sessions and promote knowledge transfer across teams to ensure continued growth and skill development within the team.
Equipment Selection & Maintenance:
+ Assess and recommend appropriate manufacturing equipment based on production needs, ensuring ease of operation and alignment with budget constraints.
+ Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring that staff is adequately trained in usage and maintenance protocols.
Documentation:
+ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all manufacturing processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
+ Ensure that documentation complies with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
Data Analysis:
+ Collect and analyze production data and performance metrics to identify patterns, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in manufacturing (Automation) engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
+ A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process optimization and engineering support.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and foster collaboration.
+ Proficient in CAD software and other manufacturing technologies.
+ Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex industrialization projects using structured methodologies (e.g., APQP as applicable).
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and Six Sigma certifications is highly desirable. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindset. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.

We are searching for a construction leader for our Advanced Manufacturing Core Market (AMCM) for the Charlotte-Greenville business unit, specifically focused on the development and growth of the Advanced Manufacturing markets within the upstate of South Carolina and western North Carolina. We are seeking a candidate to supplement and collaborate with the local teams in our Greenville, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina offices.

The candidate should have approximately 15 years' Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) experience in the construction industry, with a focus on the Advanced Manufacturing market, and a broad understanding of the clients, range of delivery means, and methods utilized in the Carolinas. Experience should include projects ranging from small cap to $150M+ in total installed cost.

Candidate should exhibit strong people skills suitable for attracting and retaining personnel, as well as developing and maintaining strong client relationships. One could come from peer EPC organizations, industry suppliers or clients, but must have direct construction experience in the Advanced Manufacturing market.

Engage during preconstruction to ensure consistency in approach and Subject Matter Expertise with respect to buyout of trade packages. Have an operations role on specific projects and stay accountable to the project team for performance of that role.

Take Care of People

Stay connected to all AM SMEs, involve them in core market activities, ensure their development, & contribute to their annual performance appraisals. Find ways to keep employees informed and excited about what's going on within the core market (presentations, trainings, email updates, Town Halls, celebrations, etc.). Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility.   • Ensure manufacturing floor is in compliance with all safety regulations

Record information on pass down logs as required. Help to maintain area documentation. Move batches in the manufacturing system as needed to ensure proper location and set up. Set-up and changeover of equipment to support production activity. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs of production equipment through the guidance of the area technician. This may be accomplished through coordination with other maintenance and design support in KEMET. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Strong quality consciousness and mechanical skills are required. Possess good time management skills and be self-motivated. Basic computer skills. Ability to use manufacturing operating system to move batch locations and navigate data entry screens.
