+ Responsible for the implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production. Troubleshoot and solve errors/problems on production equipment.
+ Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Ensure the work environment, equipment and processes are in safe condition and meet or exceed OSHA requirements.
+ Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.
+ Responsible for documentation and appropriate training plans.

Position Responsibilities:
- Schedule components and production to ensure sufficient inventory is available on a timely basis to achieve sales projections.
- Review MRP outputs daily to ensure all required actions are taken - planned orders (job and purchase), expedites, defers, and cancels.
- Plan and place manufacturing orders and purchase orders for production components and finished goods to ensure on-time delivery.
- Proactively review and expedite parts shortages by identifying issues and internal bottlenecks.
- Communicate production schedule changes and future needs to appropriate production areas.
- Optimize inventory levels to meet production requirements and inventory control goals.
- Work with multiple business sites to procure/provide products.
- Understand customer needs, history, forecasts, and sales plans.
- Analyze and correct inventory records and transactions to ensure system accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple departments including Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Production.
- Five (5) plus years of MRP planning experience with some purchasing knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of ERP systems; SyteLine experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with manufacturing BOMs
- Must display initiative and possess integrity, a strong work ethic, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented with a high sense of urgency
- Adept in time management and organization with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- APICS/CPIM certification is highly desired

**Job Description**
ITW Hartness is looking for a Summer 2026 Manufacturing Engineering Intern. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will focus on improving the outcomes of various processes so that, by mapping all the inputs and outputs of a defined business process, a Manufacturing Engineer Intern is able to recommend ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost or increase customer satisfaction. The Manufacturing Engineer intern develops and measures standard metrics, develops a project plan for implementing improvements and monitors the new process to ensure it works as intended, works with front-line staff and trains employees on continuous improvement subjects.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Analyzing and reporting quantitative data
+ Generating and reviewing SOPs
+ Utilizing lean manufacturing tools to assist in preparing detailed layouts of plant facilities to optimize material handling and product flow
+ Position will act as the primary resource for investigating, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for any process problems
+ Coordinating successful kaizen events with quantified success including assessment and effective sustainment of standard work
+ Coaching and training operational supervisors and staff to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
+ Must be proficient in MS Office Suite especially Excel for data analysis. Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform such as PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate is a plus.
+ Knowledge of facility layout planning
+ Ability to apply innovative approaches to solve problems
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma
+ Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
+ Communication skills and teamwork
+ Work under minimal supervision
