The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support to various engineering teams and collaborate with Quality, Tooling Engineers, Maintenance, Process Engineers, and Project Engineers. Responsibilities
+ Solve problems on the factory floor and act as the primary technical resource to resolve production issues.

+ Develop and implement process improvements.
+ Generate and keep all manufacturing documentation up-to-date, including BOMs, specification changes, ECOs, reports, print revisions, fixturing, and protocols.
+ Lead formal root cause investigations and implement corrective actions, confirming effectiveness through statistical analysis.
+ Interface with suppliers for incoming components, outsourced services, and new process equipment.
+ Write and revise protocols and reports for validation, both internally and externally.

Compensation Data

The Manufacturing Cost Calculator will be responsible for performing functions to determine accurate cost of producing manufactured product; including determining proper material, outside operations, labor and machine to be utilized in production process for each part quoted. Work across other departments to derive information needed. Perform analysis on large vendor pricing for obtaining the best possible cost of each material and/or service purchased. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully onsite.

Base Salary Range: $56,000 - $79,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.   • Maintains knowledge of processing rates and methods from operations to accurately quote.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the MFG Engineer Manager is responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for both new and revised product designs approved by Bath Concepts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
1.Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
2.Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
3.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
4.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
5.Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
6.Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
7.Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
8.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
9.Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
10.Provide guidance for improvements on the floor within the CNC and forming processes.
11.Create custom experimental ideas for presentations and approvals.
12.Ensure compliance with all housekeeping 5S procedures and all quality and safety regulations.
13.Using the design software, implement necessary changes and or new products for approvals.
14.Program on the floor utilizing the machine’s CNC software.
15.Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product or quality standards where warranted.
16.Adaptations of existing molds to run on other machines to increase our capacity.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Required Skills
1.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.
2.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
3.In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
4.Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
5.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
6.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
7.Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
8.Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.
9.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in manufacturing operations.
10.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.

Education and/or Experience
1.Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2.Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
3.Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
4.Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment. Preferably in Thermoforming Environments.
5.Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
6.Strong leadership and team management skills.
7.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
During the performance of his/her work duties regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds, such as removing materials from shipping containers.

Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Cost Estimator . The Manufacturing Cost Estimator will be responsible for performing functions to determine accurate cost of producing manufactured product; including determining proper material, outside operations, labor and machine to be utilized in production process for each part quoted. Work across other departments to derive information needed. Perform analysis on large vendor pricing for obtaining the best possible cost of each material and/or service purchased. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully onsite.

Base Salary Range: $56,000 - $79,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Cost Estimator Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely manufacturing product quotes based on customer requirements to existing & potential customer base.
  • Develops and maintain performance metrics for quoting team (i.e. completion to target, Com. Ex.).
  • Source material and outside operations requests with vendors.
  • Conduct Contract Review as to verify that all correct information is included in system prior to initiation of production and costs updated.
  • Assist outside & inside sales representatives to service potential and existing customers as requested.
  • Identify additional supplier options able to provide competitive quality products on time.
  • Identify secondary sources of supply, when applicable.
  • Investigate and research new materials, suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery and achieve operational excellence
  • Keep abreast of materials and material pricing trends that effect company products. Share this with our management team, as appropriate.
  • Participate in APQP meetings and process to ensure new products costs within budget.
  • Maintains standard metals pricing and stocking lists from metals suppliers.
  • Lead project teams to accomplish MBP's goals, as related to our Annual Strategic Goals and our Balanced Scorecard initiatives.
  • Maintains knowledge of processing rates and methods from operations to accurately quote.
Manufacturing Cost Estimator Qualifications:
  • Ability to create written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Advanced blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials
  • Knowledgeable in heat treating and metals processing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Background in CNC turning and milling
  • Knowledge of aerospace flow down requirements

    COURSEWORK OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's preferred
  • 5 years manufacturing experience in a CNC turning job shop required
  • Knowledge of Aerospace product processing and approved sources
  • Previous quoting experience with Aerospace OEM products (Raytheon, Bell, HDI, Collins)
  • Experience with copper-based alloys preferred
  • Previous experience completing CNC set-ups and operations preferable
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cost calculating for manufactured products
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail, accuracy is a must
