Are you a data-savvy and curious student interested in regional planning, analysis and research? The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is seeking two Data & Analysis Interns to join our team for approximately 12 months. Hours are flexible within our regular business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interns may work up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 30 hours per week in the summer, depending on school schedule.
Both interns will be part of SACOG's Data & Analysis Team but will focus on different project areas:
- Transportation Modeling & Analysis Group – This intern will support the latest update to SACOG's regional travel demand model, which is used as a key tool for the region's long-range planning, transportation project evaluation, and air quality conformity requirements.
- Data & Mapping Services Group – This intern will support data collection and analysis across a broad set of sources that are used to map and track progress, evaluate land uses and development, and support regional planning.
These internships are ideal for students who enjoy working with data, solving analytical challenges, and contributing to projects that have a real impact on regional planning and policy.

Summary:
The Director, Data Analysis and CRM is a campus-based position that is responsible for managing the Stevenson University Online (SUO) CRM system (Technolutions Slate) to support recruitment, admissions, and student success in the University's online academic programs. Duties include configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining all CRM functions to improve and enhance capabilities and efficiencies in the application, admissions, and enrollment processes, communication workflows, data reporting, and systems integrations. Data Reporting & Analysis
- Leads data analysis, resource gathering, and reporting functions for SUO.
- Creates the comprehensive weekly enrollment funnel report for online academic programs, using data from multiple sources, and ensures the accuracy of that report. Plans, prepares, and produces a variety of regular and ad hoc queries, reports, and publications to meet external regulations and internal needs as requested.
- Coordinates Stevenson Universitys annual renewal application for participation in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

CRM Management
- Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Slate CRM system, ensuring quality management while making required updates to admissions systems necessary to recruit, evaluate, and advise students, including the building, testing, evaluation, and release of system updates.
- Assists the Director of SUO Communications in creating and maintaining audience lists and supporting communication workflows to current and prospective students.
- Develops dashboards and data tools in Slate to enable various constituent groups to see and evaluate the impact of communications campaigns and enrollment initiatives.
- Works to resolve data conflicts and monitors Slate CRM System for data integrity.
- Assists with tasks such as user management and roles, permissions, query building, unit and security testing, security planning, and general troubleshooting.
- Works closely with stakeholders to develop process improvement plans through detailed analysis and planning.
- Researches, evaluates, and implements new database functionality.
- Builds a relationship with Slate CRM system vendor in order to resolve any issues and optimize database usage.
- Monitors the automatic data import and export feeds to the SIS (Datatel) and collaborates with the Office of Information Technology to troubleshoot and maintain systems integrations.
- Coordinates the annual admissions cycle preparation process to audit current functionality and archive old application data
- Provides trainings for new and current Slate users and documents all Slate processes.
Leadership
- Participates in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to keep informed of current ideas, research, and practices related to the responsibilities of the position.
