**JOB SUMMARY**
This is an Operations position responsible for assisting Material Handling Equipment (MHE) technician II & III with maintenance activities associated with material handling equipment, and maintenance of industrial batteries.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements
+ Learn/gain knowledge of controls and electric (AC - Alternative Current & DC - Direct Current) low voltage.
+ Learn/complete small electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.
+ Learn to perform and maintain power material handling equipment (MHE) including preventive maintenance (PM) of MHE fleet checking, draining and filling oil levels as needed, checking, adjusting, or replacing all belts and chains as needed, checking and troubleshooting electrical controls issues, replacing motors and controls, safety checks, PM per manufacturers recommendations
+ Learn/gain knowledge of hydraulic systems/schematics/components, electrical systems/schematics both AC and DC (distribution center) systems, drive motors, power amps, electrical controls including PLC systems
+ Learn/gain knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, drive units, differentials, braking systems, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, steering systems, suspension systems
+ Completes all special projects associated with buildings or grounds, as requested. Includes but not limited to moving furniture or fixtures, changing lights, light carpentry, painting, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, repair of minor electrical devices
+ Battery Maintenance duties will include battery charger repairs, battery changes for MHE, repair of plugs and tips of batteries and chargers, watering and washing batteries, acid spill clean up, battery rack cleaning, battery area sweeping and cleaning, setting equalizing charge on batteries
+ Participate in departmental on-call program, as designated
+ Responsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc.
+ Responsible for housekeeping, clean up of all maintenance areas/work areas on a daily basis.
+ Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order
+ Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job
+ Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety
+ Champion overall safety in the department
+ Comply with OSHA, and other local, state and federal regulations
+ Adhere to Organization and the Facilities Department policies and procedures including appropriate attire, grooming, and attendance
+ Interact effectively, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of cooperation
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
+ High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
+ Tech school or equivalent is preferred (2 years)
**Experience**
+ Two years in an MHE maintenance position preferred (No experience required)
**Professional Skills**
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations
+ Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
**Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations**
+ Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards.
+ Complete a Sysco approved the defensive driving program
+ Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
+ MHE 8 hour maintenance tech certificate from MHE manufacturer (IE: Crown, Raymond, Hyster, etc.) preferred
**Physical Demands**
+ While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.
+ The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
+ The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Payrate: $23/hr W2

Job Title: Material Handler / Forklift Operator
Location: Ridgefield, NJ
Duration: 9 months contract


3rd Shift: 9:30pm to 6:00am; Mon-Fri.

Job Description:
  • Responsible for raw material, finished goods distribution and the coordination of material movement between warehouse and production areas.
  • Ability read and understand specific SOPs procedures.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to pick and prepare orders according to SOPs procedures.
  • Pharmaceutical, and GMP Experience.
  • Experience in Athena (SAP) System 3+ years . Forklift certified 5+ years.
  • Ability to prepare components (Supplying the Manufacturing line.
  • May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment (Power Industrial Trucks).
  • Store, transfer and distribute material according to specific material requirements.
  • Receives detailed instructions on all work.
  • All activities are closely supervised, and work is reviewed upon completion.

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs/18kg.

Position Summary: The forklift operator is responsible for putting away, dropping down, and rotating full pallets of stock through the warehouse inventory reserve racks using a stand-up or sit-down forklift.

What you'll do:
  • Maneuver Stand-Up, High Reach, or Sit-Down Forklift to put away or let down pallets into warehouse racks up to 46 feet high.
  • Picks/sorts and replenishes product from upper racks to front pick bins.
  • Unloads product from trailers using forklift trucks and powered riding pallet jacks.
  • Manually moves product from receiving dock to proper storage location.
  • Monitors and enforces safe product handling procedures.
  • Replenishes product from upper storage rack to lower pick bins within cooler.
  • Monitors product quality as product is being moved.
  • Breaks down pallets on receiving dock.
  • Maintains cleanliness (sweep, mop, restack pallets) of receiving docks and pick bin area.
  • Cleans and charges forklift at the end of shift.
  • Record daily actions by use of RF Scan Gun
About you:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of forklift experience.
  • Team player who works productively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to pass a forklift operating exam.
  • Warehouse/distribution facility experience preferred.

  • Basic or routine troubleshooting
  • Able to operator material handling equipment: (Forklift, Stand Behinds, Trucks)

  • Certified to operate various workstations/positions within the facility to meet production needs
  • Inspect measurements and product to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Transport the product to the correct location when completed

  • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate all manufacturing procedures after training.
  • Assist with other duties within the department and/or other work stations/departments when necessary
  • Complete clean-up responsibilities and maintain work station according to 5S procedure

Position Overview

Adecco is seeking a Forklift Operator to join the team in Somerset, NJ. This position is responsible for safely transporting products throughout the facility and supporting warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift to move products from production lines to storage areas

  • Load and unload products from company transport vehicles

  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse and loading areas

  • Participate in daily inventory tasks, including cycle counts

  • Verify load sheets and ensure accuracy of equipment and product distribution

  • Assist with product ordering and inventory control

  • Support shipping and receiving functions

  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams as needed
