Overview
This position is responsible for reporting, analyzing, and providing internal customer support to the various cross-functional teams supporting material inventory and inventory processes across the many operating companies for PPL, with the focus to improve the financial, quality, and efficiency performance of material inventory. This includes sourcing, consolidating, and reporting data for pre-established and/or new deliverables, including an assessment of results that can translate to impactful tasks or areas of opportunity, crafting and communicating presentations/reports to influence various levels of an organization, identifying business opportunities, and driving continuous improvements at multiple stages within the supply chain. At an associate level, the individual contributor will be provided with training, guidance, and instruction on tools, processes, and analytical techniques to perform the work. The Inventory Management Associate is expected to quickly learn and adapt the tools and techniques beyond that provided by the leader, and quickly progress in knowledge and capability through self-learning aided by online media, formal training, and peer knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

+ Continuously optimize inventory levels, such as min/max, reorder point, and safety stocking levels to adjust for changing supply chain and other environmental (financial, systematic, business and physical) conditions.
+ Oversee the performance of material inventory management processes and related data for PPL's operating companies, such as cycle counts, receiving, returns, average unit price, and inventory reconciliation. Work with company leaders to implement changes that improve and optimize performance.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive propane or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grabble, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

This full-time role is a part of our team and reports to the Press Department Supervisor.

Required experience:

  • * Change LP gas or electric battery when needed.
    • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
    • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, and transports, load to designated area.
    • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
    • Inventories materials on work floor, and supply associates with materials as needed and notifies Supervisor of shortages.
    • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules as needed or directed.
    • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
    • Ensures all containers are properly identified and are placed in designated areas.
    • Ensures all containers are signed off by material handler before moving.
    • Ensures all containers are locked and the load is secure before moving.
    • Transports baskets to and from designated areas.
    • Maintain safety precautions throughout shop floor.
    • Maintain finished goods area and keep parts in FIFO.
    • Monitors inventory of baskets for production and notifies Supervisor of shortages.
    • Informs Supervisor of any WIP shortages or concerns.
    • Keeps back pad orderly and clean.
    • Keep lines running by supporting them with empty racks/ containers and moving parts to and from machines.
    • Assist production on machinery when necessary.
    • Maintains areas in keeping them organized and clean daily.
Required Skills * Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Procedures * Must be able to obtain a PIT License

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (occasional weekends)

What You'll Do
As a Material Handler , you'll be a vital part of our warehouse operations, ensuring materials are handled with care and precision to keep our production running smoothly. Your day-to-day will include:
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and safe
  • Loading, unloading, and moving materials using pallet jacks, carts, or by hand
  • Accurately counting and recording inventory
  • Verifying materials and ensuring proper labeling
  • Preparing materials for shipment-wrapping, boxing, and banding for safe transport
  • Picking and pulling daily orders from printed pick lists
  • Using basic hand tools for crate assembly/disassembly
  • Capturing photos of inbound/outbound loads to document quality and condition
What We're Looking For
Experience in:
  • Forklift operation
  • Order picking and packing
  • General warehousing
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and pick lists
  • Familiarity with labeling and inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Knowledge of the custom store fixture industry is a plus
