Join our dynamic team in the Labor and Delivery unit! We are currently seeking a full-time RN to work 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. You will have the opportunity to be cross-trained in both Labor and Delivery and Antepartum, making a difference in patients' lives.
Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $70,699.20
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments, ensuring all documentation meets company policy and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
- Utilize nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer prescribed medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to design comprehensive care plans for all patients.
- Guide ancillary personnel and uphold professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
- 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care preferred.
- Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and the ability to apply them for patient care improvement.

Overview
The Maternal Fetal Care Unit consists of 9 beds. This unit specializes in the care of antepartum patients with a variety of diagnoses. These include preterm premature rupture of membranes, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and diabetes. This unit also cares for pregnant and post-partum patients with complicated medical diagnoses in addition to their pregnancy, including but not limited to cardiac complications, sickle cell disease, and substance use disorder.
Short Description
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

The Registered nurse is able to manage, and interpret a fetal monitoring strip during labor, and is able to recognize significant changes in the fetal condition that require appropriate interventions. The Registered nurse will be knowledgeable in the care of the newborn and is able to recognize complications and provide the appropriate care. The candidate will be able to provide effective triage, medical screening exam and treatment for the pregnant patient who presents for an unscheduled evaluation. Other duties are to provide total patient care, including some housekeeping duties after deliveries.
The candidate for this position will want to "make a difference" in the patients hospital experience, and is committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. The nurse will need to be compassionate and empathetic to the new parent's needs, and have the passion for educating new parents on the care of their newborn. Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• 3 months of experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a New York license (required for submission).
• Travel only, local not allowed.

Additional Details:
No Travel teams / pairs.
Cannot reside in these 10 counties: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington.
Maternal Special Care/ Anti-Partum.
Must be able to start within 5 weeks to apply.
Advanced skills needed: Cesarean Sections, Inductions, Bariatric patients, other high-risk conditions.
Labor and Delivery experience, high risk experience preferred.
10 days maximum time off
2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
Proof of identification required
Certifications:
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
