Job Purpose
Successful development and launch of New Models while achieving model and business targets. Manage all aspects of model fixture development from concept to mass production readiness for manufacturing department.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and Develop component prototype for test and trial to verify performance results to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Confirm manufacturing impact through Design Development timing. Complete studies correlating to design development data and drawing releases.
- Develop, manage, and track fixture activity schedule (SAP) in correlation with project schedule to ensure implementation and readiness prior to introduction. Track and report project progress and status to achieve results.
- Understand and routinely communicate project information to team and customers.
- Develop and manage investment and expense budgets to achieve overall project cost targets.
- Determine Paint department’s assigned components (fixtures, jigs, carts, racks.etc.) needs, including inventory quantities for the new model and/or characteristic change points and related impact. Develop department strategies and targets to meet or exceed project A00's / A0's based on previous model reflections, and Manufacturing Mangement Center direction and targets.
- Prepare evaluation materials to meet required schedules using standardized formats that accurately represent project status vs the evaluation criteria so that evaluator(s) can make good judgment.
- Prepare design bid packet to determine maker layout to order fixtures for mass production needs.
- Lead and support collaborative problem-solving activity with related departments.
- Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise and understanding for succession planning and team growth.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or equivalent experience
- 2+ years relevant experience
- Catia, 3D design, 2D drawing, 5S, Project Management
Working Conditions
- Will require frequent travel to factories in North America

Job Purpose
The position is to function as an entry level mechanical designer; supporting a team dedicated to the development and integration of equipment into Honda facilities. The associate is responsible for equipment development for both business plan and new model projects. They are responsible working through concept development to a completed design. This associate is tasked with ensuring design meets the target criteria and has been optimized as a design solution.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide mechanical design to produce automated production equipment solutions to assemble/build, and install/mature to our production facilities
- Work in an engineering team atmosphere understand design requirements to create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide on-site support to install, system up, and mature the control system for production equipment.
- Create and maintain a critical path schedule for work assignments to produce the control system design deliverables to achieve the overall project milestones for small to medium projects/ low to medium complexity.
- Conduct and attend design reviews to ensure design standards are achieved and design meets specification requirements for work assignment deliverables.
- Continuously apply engineering mindset to learn new skills/processes/technology to expands one knowledge base in relevant manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 2 term of Co-Op or internship experience in field of Degree or 2 years’ experience designing automated equipment.
- Knowledge of 3D CAE systems and software.
- Background in automated equipment development.
- Technical communication skills (both written and oral).
Decisions Expected
- Utilization of core engineering practices that creation of machine concept that meets target QCDSM criteria.
- Detailed process study and tooling design.
- Review and support of equipment at shipping evaluation to ensure that design criteria is met prior to installation.
Working Conditions

To achieve HDMA business targets, it is critically important to find whether a given part/system design is cost-driven and provides a reasonable value for the money.
The Cost Planning Chief Engineer is the recognized Technical Leader for the Design and Performance Category. All cost-related issues requiring adjudication or direction setting come to him as final decision-making authority. They are well aware of emerging technologies in their field and demonstrate technical competence, breadth of knowledge, and leadership in deciding direction and method to address matters relating to Cost. They have the experience to recognize and quantify a proposal’s effect on cross-functional areas and interpret the downstream effects on the overall business.
Key Accountabilities
Expertise and Credibility:
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of standard and novel manufacturing processes used to produce parts in their field. Through their own experience, they can recognize whether a part is efficiently crafted for ease of manufacture and optimized for cost. Can also recognize the innovation point or enabling technology that makes for an excellent design. Conversely, can identify areas where improvement opportunities exist and by what means. They stay abreast of the latest developments and technologies trending in their field. Has a thorough understanding of Regulations, Market competitiveness, Cost and Weight and accounts for these factors in his decision making.
Verification and Judgement:
- Evaluates the reasonableness of cost targets and VA/VE proposals by carefully examining the logic and assumptions that were used in creating them.

The Fuel Economy and Emissions Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and verification of tailpipe emissions and fuel economy to meet Honda, consumer, and regulator requirements. Additionally, this associate will independently collaborate across the HDMA business units to verify cross-functional impacts of the key vehicle specifications which impact fuel economy and emissions.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and support the development and verification of tailpipe emissions and fuel economy through cross-functional activities to impacting systems (vehicle weight, aerodynamics, friction, electrical systems, cooling systems) through unit and vehicle testing.
- Analyze and set countermeasure concepts for gaps in fuel economy or emissions achievements with internal and external departments.

Job Purpose
As a Senior Engineer in the Seat and Package Development department you are in charge of delivering straightforward engineering assignments (i.e. testing or drawing components/simple part sets) with available guidance, while expanding the breadth of our technical knowledge and starting to deepen your expertise.
Key Accountabilities
- Engineering Solution Design – Draft engineering solutions for an assigned component/part (or more complex parts with supervision) and the associated drawings and validation processes, to gather data and provide feedback on their feasibility, costs, quality, and performance.

- Documentation – Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by more senior engineers to record and submit all necessary development / testing / research information as the respective activities mature.

Job Purpose
As a senior member of the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible to lead 1D CAE model and method creation related to electrical systems like wire harness and electrical control units in order to verify voltage drop and electrical load-balance as well as electrical device performance and power consumption. Proficient use of CAE contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a small team to develop and validate new CAE methods for both specification setting and product verification.
- Lead collaboration and negotiation with test and part design engineers to understand the physical part and test procedures in order to accurately set the CAE model boundaries, constraints, and assumptions. Effectively present analysis and information to technical experts.
- Create documentation for the registration of CAE Models as a verified tool for specification setting and product verification.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- BS in mechanical or electrical engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
- BS and 6+ years engineering experience minimum. MS and 3+ years engineering experience or PhD and 0-2 years engineering experience.
- Expertise with 1D CAE such as Matlab/Simulink/Simscape, Ansys Twin Builder, Amesim. Also proficient with programming language software such as Python, and VBA.
- Extensive experience with creation of new CAE Models/Methods including performing verification and validation
- Must possess familiarity with static and dynamic electrical analysis
- Ability to break down complex concepts into simple summaries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily conducted at an office desk. Some time is spent at test facilities for collaboration.

Job Purpose
To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS), researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop complex component and system layouts for All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with limited supervision. Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings that result in setting the final specifications of global All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.
- Establish or contribute to establishing cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimizing difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.
- Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with limited supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
- Generate high-level ideas and contribute to building strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with limited supervision.
- Support market quality themes with limited supervision. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement configuration management specs as needed with little supervision.

Job Purpose
Work as part of a multi-discipline team to introduce and implement equipment required for new model introduction into Honda facilities. By leveraging 3D CAD software and simulation tools, they will need to identify key change points and summarize into a specification that fixes design requirements. The associate will be asked to study and support equipment across all of Frame and Power Unit Assembly. Associates will need to collaborate with the design team and plant members in order to achieve required quality, cost, and safety criteria.

- Review New Model Car part data for application into existing equipment and process or for new machine /process development.
- Machine or tooling concept creation utilizing 3D CAD software and 3D robotic simulation software.
- Creation of Specification documentation to summarize changepoints, establish criteria and process/part flow.
- Lead meetings with customers both upstream and downstream to gain consensus.
- Create and maintain a critical path schedule to maintain overall project milestones.
- Conduct On-Site investigations of manufacturing lines and facilities.
- Provide on-site support to install/modify equipment to validate criteria is achieved and stable production can be achieved.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
