Sun River Heath is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a Full- Time Psychiatrist at The HUB Health Center site, located in the Bronx, NY.
The psychiatrist provides psychiatric services within the Article 31 of Sun River Health. This individual provides quality care to patients within the practice. This individual coordinates with the SVP of Behavioral Health and other Article 31 professionals in order to uphold the standards of psychiatric interventions in accordance Sun River Health clinical standards of practices and in conjunction with federal, state and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient psychiatric care according to professional guidelines and best practices.
- Maintains collaborative agreements with the psychiatric nurse practitioners.
- Participates in the development of clinical systems that assures the provision of care for all clients in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Participates in developing plans of care for clients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Maintains liaison with other departments/disciplines relating to the provision of psychiatric care.
- Consults with Administration, Nursing, Social Work and Substance Abuse Services to evaluate the facility's ability to meet the psycho-social needs of the client.
- Provides for appropriate psychiatric educational programs for mental health and medical staff and participates in in-service training within organizations.
- Provides patient advocacy.
- Participates in continuing education programs appropriate to the practice.
- Maintains confidential case records, medical charts and files pertaining to the resident/client.
- Embraces and exemplifies the Core Values of Brightpoint Health.
- Is able to communicate and provide care in Spanish preferred.
- Participates in programs, meetings, conferences that satisfy requirements for continuing medical education, enhance the Department of Mental Health and/or further the mission.
Minimum Education Requirement:
- Doctorate Degree (including M.D., D.O., D.D., PhD., etc.)
- License to practice Medicine in New York State
Minimum Related Work Experience:
- 2 - 4 years of experience

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pain Medicine Physician with surgical experience to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, managing, and treating chronic pain, with the capability to perform interventional pain procedures and related surgeries. This role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive pain management plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Quality
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to identify the underlying causes of pain.
- Utilize advanced imaging and diagnostic techniques to assess pain-related conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans that may include pharmacological treatments, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
- Perform a wide range of interventional pain procedures, including but not limited to nerve blocks, epidural injections, spinal cord stimulation, and radiofrequency ablation.
- Educate patients and their families on the nature of their condition, treatment options, and pain management strategies.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling to help patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life.
- Stay current with medical literature, CME, and DOH policy.
- Keep up-to-date with ICD 10, CPT codes, and insurance requirements.
Surgical Interventions
- Perform surgical procedures that meet medical necessity, including minimally invasive surgeries aimed at alleviating chronic pain.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and other specialists on complex cases requiring surgical intervention.
- Excel at customer service, treating patients and coworkers with courtesy, respect, and compassion.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with patients and other team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent bedside manners are crucial to being a good doctor.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently.
- Time management skills to be able to see a high number of patients.
- Maintain a productive work schedule, charting in a timely manner.
