  • Assist physicians during procedures, operating within your documented competency and skill level.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to develop, carry out, and evaluate personalized care plans.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in life-saving initiatives, including CPR and code team activities.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs, ensuring they are heard and considered in care planning.
  • Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to facilitate understanding and adherence.
  • Implement infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment necessary for patient care, such as IV pumps and ventilators.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to uphold standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate responsible decision-making in planning, delegating, and providing care according to patient needs and policies.
  • Document all patient care and education thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with clinical competencies and nursing standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or completion of student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and convey findings effectively.
  • Skilled in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
  • Knowledgeable about safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement strategies.

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
