Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency
- Ability to work 37.5 hrs./week Monday through Friday with one late night shift until 6:30 pm and rotating Saturdays
- Ability to travel 10% of the time to cover other offices if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
- Epic experience
- Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant

- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers

In this role you will:
- Be responsible for accurately reviewing and following up on denied or rejected claims, handling insurance reimbursements, and ensuring timely insurance and patient billing.
- Research and reconcile denied and unpaid medical claims, no fault, and workers' compensation claims
- Submit appeals and follow up on denied or rejected claims to seek resolution for payment from insurance carrier
- Knowledge of billing regulations, ICD 10 codes, CPT codes CCI rules and modifiers in order to correct and re-submit claims for payments including verifying patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy in billing codes (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).
- Collect reimbursements for services rendered by reviewing insurance carriers reject reports, EOB's and or correspondence
- Use established protocols to contact providers and clients to resolve discrepancies in processed, partially paid and unpaid claims with timely appropriate follow up action
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and payer guidelines
- Knowledge of Laboratory billing codes, Excel, Outlook, EMR systems preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years minimum experience with Accounts Receivables/Denials
- Medical Billing Certificate preferred
- Laboratory billing knowledge a plus
