BMG is a capital equipment manufacturer of thermoforming machines used in the conversion of plastic and paper sheets into high-value-add products. Our equipment has been made in the USA for over 70 years and has thermoforming systems operating in over 85 countries worldwide in virtually every industry.
BMG is looking for Mill Machinists to work in our Beaverton, MI location. Our Machinists set-up, operate and maintain Boring Mills or CNC Vertical Mills to produce precision parts. They are comfortable with some machine programming and are responsible for setting up the machine, selecting the approprate tools, adjusting the machine to control speed, material feed, and make sure machines are set up properly and working well. Our machinists inspect product using gauging instruments to maintain specified requirements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate mills to machine parts to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
- Assure that material to be machined is correct for the job.
- Select and use appropriate tooling and fixturing for the job.
- Program and/or operate machine at proper speeds and feeds for material being machined.
- Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
- Assist in training personnel when appropriate including machine, job, fixture, and part specific issues as they arise on a day to day basis.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2+ years experience in CNC machining - majority experience on mills.
- Competence in shop math, to include trigonometry.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Ability to work with minimum tolerances of .0005.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Basic tool requirement.
- Willingness and ability to work off-shift schedules as needed.
ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Walk for extended periods of time.
- May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
- Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organizations facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
JOB TYPE: Full-time
PAY RANGE: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on machine experience.
SCHEDULE:
- First Shift for training: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, then could move to an off-shift
- Second Shift 3:00 PM 11:00 PM, Monday Friday + 7% Shift Premium
- Third Shift 10:30 PM 7:00 AM, Sunday Thursday + 5% Shift Premium

Position Overview:
The responsibility of the CNC mill Machinist position is to set up and operate CNC mills - to manufacture complex and noncomplex parts maintaining high quality standards and workmanship. Responsible for keeping the work area and equipment safe, clean, and organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Set up and operate CNC 4 axis mills with G code programming using one to eight work shifts, 10 to 40 tools.
- Ability to write and edit complex G code mill programs with the ability to calculate trigonometry equations.
- Verify calibration of measuring equipment. Ability to set, read, & use manual measuring equipment.
- Responsible for dimensional and quality requirements of components.
- Some manual Lathes and Milling machines maybe required.
- Responsible for assisting with general housekeeping of the shop as needed.
- Must always wear PPE and assure all employees and visitors adhere to ODI safety guidelines and procedures.
- Must communicate with engineers and planners daily to assure routers and schedules are accurate.
- Proactively identify and implement ways to reduce set up times and then communicate such that routers and schedules reflect the improvements.
- Responsible for training by mentoring employees.
- Play an active role regarding "Lean" processes by working and communicating with Planning, Quality, Peers, and Engineering to identify and implement ways to improve flow to increase throughput.
- Identify potential cost reductions regarding product design and communicate to Leads and Engineering for evaluation.

Position Overview:Skilled CNC Mill Programmer & Operator to run our Haas VFS-2 3-axis vertical mill. This person will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating the mill to produce both prototypes and production parts from engineering drawings.
In addition to running the mill, this person will program other CNC equipment (such as laser tables and plasma tables) as needed though they will not operate those machines day-to-day. They will collaborate closely with engineering/drafting to provide design-for-manufacturability feedback.
Key Responsibilities- Program, set up, and operate the HAAS VFS-2 CNC mill using G-code and Fusion 360 CAM software.
- Program additional shop equipment (laser tables, plasma tables) for production, when needed.
- Design and set up simple fixtures and work holding solutions.
- Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for quality and efficiency.

- Proficiency with Fusion 360 or similar CAM software.
- Ability to independently take apart from print to finished product.
- Strong G-code programming skills and knowledge of tooling/fixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
- Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection tools.
Preferred:
- Experience programming for additional CNC equipment (laser, plasma).
- Basic fixture design experience.

Join a dynamic manufacturer in the South Bend-Mishawaka area as a CNC Mill Machinist on the 2nd shift. Be part of a team operating across five different CNC Machine cells, totaling around 20 CNC machines. You will primarily work with Horizontal Mills (4- or 5-axis Mills) and engage in both high-volume runs and custom part production.
Responsibilities:
- Operate both 4 and 5 axis mills.
- Read and interpret blueprints to set up tooling and jaws.
- Perform 1-3 machine setups per shift.
- Conduct first-piece inspections using quality tools.
- Make adjustments to CNC machinery and touch off tooling.
- Ensure parts meet client specifications using quality instruments.
Essential Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience operating CNC Mill machinery.
- Proficiency in using quality instruments such as micrometers and gages.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Physical capability to lift 25+ pounds repetitively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- NIMS Certification in CNC Machining is a plus.
- Experience in setting up CNC Mill machinery.
