The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is an integrated health care system providing exceptional medical care to local and global communities. The Division of Neurology is currently comprised of eight faculty Neurologists who work to achieve the hospital's Joint Commission's gold seal of approval for disease-specific care for primary stroke, AHA Gold Plus Stroke Center and partial thrombectomy capable interventional services, in the setting of a very active neurosurgical service, state of the art neurological imaging studies and epilepsy platform, and a full-service tertiary care hospital. We are in the process of building a full comprehensive thrombectomy capable Stroke Center and Neurology Service and are looking to recruit full-time faculty to expand the Division's services.

**The Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital (MSSN) seeks a Core Faculty Family Medicine Physician to join its long standing Family Medicine residency program in Oceanside!**
Mount Sinai South Nassau is looking for a board certified Family Medicine Physician to serve as a core faculty member. Our residency program, sponsored by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is nearly 50 years old, with continued accreditation by the ACGME. The faculty physician will see patients about 20% time, precept/supervise students and residents 60% time, and have 20% time towards administrative, academic and educational efforts associated with the residency program. The practice setting is mostly outpatient, with some inpatient activity in the well newborn nursery and occasionally / rarely in the Pediatrics unit (with excellent Pediatrics back up).

The Emergency Medicine Physician will be joining a team of 25 faculty ED Physicians with a full cadence of backup specialties available. Mount Sinai South Nassau is an American College of Surgeons verified level II trauma center with approximately 65,000 ED visits annually in the Oceanside campus. Our freestanding ED in Long Beach sees approximately 12,000 visits annually and provides services including full panel of point of care testing, x-ray, and CT scans. Currently, Mount Sinai South Nassau ED Oceanside campus is under construction and will nearly double the size of a football field and will have the capacity to see approximately 80,000 patients annually, with expected completion to be around July 2025.

The Department consists of over 40 full-time and voluntary board-certified physicians providing care to the diverse community. As a member of the of the MSHS and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, we are able to offer the professional benefits of a major academic/research medical center. With over 2400 deliveries per year, the Department supports 16 residents in a four-year residency program and an active teaching program for third-year medical students. All OB/GYN sub-specialties are represented in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking a full-time general Endocrinology Physician to add to our growing Division of Endocrinology.

The chosen candidate will become part of a full-time faculty in-patient and out-patient general Endocrinology practice with opportunities to sub-specialize in specific endocrine illnesses, and be part of a multi-specialty team in a hospital setting located in Nassau County on Long Island. The candidate must have an interest in providing office-based and in-patient consultations on the Eendocrinology service, and to participate in teaching in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He or she will work closely with a variety of specialists in Medicine and other Departments, and with our excellent Diabetes Education Center, allowing patients to address many of their healthcare needs in one location. The selected candidate will also be a part of the Thyroid / Parathyroid Center working closely with senior Head/Neck Surgeons. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

The Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau, under the Chairman of the Department, Aaron E. Glatt, MD, MACP, FIDSA, FSHEA is comprised of 400 voluntary and full time Internists and sub-specialists and has an ACGME 30 resident Internal Medicine Residency Program which started July 2019. Mount Sinai South Nassau also operates Long Islands only free-standing, 9-1-1 receiving Emergency Department, located in Long Beach. In addition to its extensive outpatient specialty centers, Mount Sinai South Nassau provides emergency and elective angioplasty, as well as being a designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health and Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons and an accredited center of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Association and Quality Improvement Program. The hospital has been awarded the Joint Commissions gold seal of approval for disease-specific care for heart failure, primary stroke, hip replacement, knee replacement, wound care, bariatric surgery, and end-stage renal disease, and recently was re-accredited as one of first programs in the US by the Infectious Diseases Society of America as a Center of Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship.

Designated a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for outstanding nursing care, South Nassau also offers Novalis Tx and Gamma Knife radiosurgery technologies, and operates the only Trauma Center on the South Shore of Nassau County verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology

• Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
• A system work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven health system
• Experience with the various glucose monitoring systems and insulin delivery devices such as: continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump therapy, and insulin pens
  
  

Compensation range from 220K to 250K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
