Job Summary:
This position is for a Network Administrator within the Network Services organization supporting Kaiser Permanente's F5 Load Balancing infrastructure . Kaiser Permanente operates within a ITIL framework . This position will directly support aspects within the F5 Load Balancer Network Operations. Shift flexibility required and will include working nights, weekends, Holidays.

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for a deep understanding of one or more networking technologies (Data Center networking , LAN, WAN, Voice, Wireless, TCIP/IP protocols and services). Some of the unique challenges this position will face include working on a large scale network, across 1,000 sites with multiple data centers requiring 5 9s availability.

+ As part of the IT Engineering job family, this position is responsible for leveraging DEVOPS, and both Waterfall and Agile practices, to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, high-transaction, on/off-premise, cloud-based solutions.
+ Supports the review of team deliverables.
+ Provides some recommendations and input on options, risks, costs, and benefits for systems designs.
+ Collaborates with team members to develop project support plans, schedules, and assignments.
+ Translates business and functional requirements into technical specifications that support integrated and sustainable designs for designated infrastructure systems by partnering with Business Analysts to understand business needs and functional specifications.
+ Serves as a liaison with business partners, Solutions, and enterprise architects to define and understand target strategies.
+ Collaborates with counterparts in various IT Teams (e.g., database, operations, technical support) throughout system development and implementation.
+ Develops and modifies solutions by identifying technical solutions to business problems.
+ Provides consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture for assigned systems by assessing the implications of IT strategies on infrastructure capabilities.
+ Reviews and makes changes to technical specifications and documentation.
+ Collaborates with IT teams and key business partners to troubleshoot complex systems and provides solutions, as appropriate.
+ Evaluates existing systems to make recommendations on resources required to maintain service levels.
+ Evaluates new service options, identifies issues and impacts, and provides recommendations on feasibility and ROI.
+ Collaborates with architects and software engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable designs.
+ Verifies system designs adhere to company architecture standards.
+ Drives physical architecture design for new initiatives.
+ Leads the implementation of assigned enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation by developing and documenting detailed standards (e.g., guidelines, processes, procedures) for the introduction and maintenance of services.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum four (4) years experience in network infrastructure planning, design, and implementation.
+ Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and Minimum six (6) years experience in an IT operations environment with technical experience in distributed technologies , systems development, and/or networking. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 5 years related Network Engineering and/or Operations experience (or similar IT experience)
· Strong experience with deploying, operating DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (DDI) protocols and Infrastructures
· Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking including switching, routing, WLAN, common protocols, and services.
· 5 years minimum experience supporting F5 Load Balancing environment .
· Detailed knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
· Detailed knowledge of F5 BIG-IP DNS formerly known as Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
· Strong understanding of Linux/Unix Operating systems
· Strong understanding with Unix shell scripting and Python

The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role is responsible for solving complex problems with no defined solutions, which may have a significant impact on the company. This role will lead the design, implementation, and management of advanced cloud solutions. This role requires extensive experience with cloud technologies and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that align with business objectives. This position operates with minimal supervision, leading large projects or processes with limited oversight from a manager and making critical decisions that impact the business strategy and operations.

Detailed Description:

• Solve complex cloud solution problems with no defined solutions.
• Technical support escalation for cloud solutions
• Provide technical guidance and effectively mentoring employees.
• Make strategic decisions that impact business strategy and operations.
• Manage vendors and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• The ability to drive and deliver projects alongside project planning and scheduling.

Job Description

We have an opening for a Senior Network Engineer to provide advanced level engineering in the areas of network design, configuration, and management considering emerging technologies, best practices, and industry standards. • Advanced written and verbal communication skills to prepare, present, document, and explain technical information, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment and to interact with all levels of management and staff.
• Ability to support occasional schedule-driven project deliverables and off-hours infrastructure upgrades with the ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

Additional qualifications at the SES.4 level

• Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions in high-pressure or complex scenarios, including the ability to troubleshoot highly complex infrastructure capacity / performance problems and provide advanced solutions.
• Substantial experience designing and operating Data Center infrastructure and leading significant network improvement or deployment projects.
• Expert-level skill and knowledge of networks and network-based security technologies.

Qualifications We Desire

• Advanced knowledge of computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures and / or computer networking fundamentals, including proficiency in one or more scripting languages, such as Python, Perl.
• Experience configuring and managing HPC networks, and experience troubleshooting networks, services, and systems within an HPC environment.

• Advanced ability to troubleshoot infrastructure capacity/performance problems and provide proposed solutions.
• Significant experience configuring and managing a medium to large datacenter and enterprise networks in LAN & WAN environments, including significant experience troubleshooting complex issues within those environments.
• Significant experience supporting secure, highly reliable enterprise networks with comprehensive knowledge of L2/L3 network principles and routing protocols, and experience designing, configuring, operating, monitoring, and management of switches and routers or equivalent network equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of the standards governing bot TCP/IP and Ethernet.

Qualifications We Desire

• Advanced knowledge of computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures and / or computer networking fundamentals, including proficiency in one or more scripting languages, such as Python, Perl.
• Experience configuring and managing HPC networks, and experience troubleshooting networks, services, and systems within an HPC environment.

Job Title: Network Engineer

DESCRIPTION:
Deliver network solutions for business applications and infrastructure technology. Lead the development and deployment of communication solutions, including integration testing. Develop turn-over documentation for handing off to Operations teams. Design, deploy, maintain, solutions across, on-prem and cloud networks.

Manage multiple high-priority, high-pressure projects. Act as point of escalation for network related support cases. Implement fault-tolerance across all critical networked environments. Integrate networks with Public Cloud providers (e.g., Azure/GCP) using transit VPC, IPSec and other Secure Cloud Interconnects. Lead the design and implementation of Enterprise solutions focused in the areas of network and data center technologies. Create the governing principles around network design across the organization. Define the network engineering standard processes and procedures. Design, test, implement, and support network infrastructure. Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration.

Project planning and designing scalable network infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements for a reliable network (includes detailing current and future requirements, planning analysis, project design, cost and personnel resource estimation for project implementation).
