As a Network Engineer, you will be part of a team that oversees the global environment of Simpson Strong-Tie's Network infrastructure. The primary focus of this role is to provide day-to-day operations design, support, and maintenance for existing and new On-Premises and Hybrid Cloud Network services. You will also assist in the completion of projects leveraging various on-prem and hybrid technologies that contribute to the overall success of the Simpson Strong-Tie Network infrastructure.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Management of network infrastructure, including securing, optimizing and maintaining high availability (20%)
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to on-premises and hybrid cloud network infrastructures and environments. This includes participation in on-call rotations. (20%)
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for the network components of infrastructure projects (20%)
Work with consultants and vendors on projects and/or for additional support (20%)
Design, deploy and maintain on-prem & Hybrid Cloud networks and solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security (10%)
Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates for deploying infrastructure resources (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in managing network infrastructure and network engineering of both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

- Basic understanding of public cloud infrastructures
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Specific solution experience with Cisco (Catalyst, NX, or ACI), Cisco Meraki, Aruba SD-WAN, ClearPass, or Palo Alto Networks or similar technologies

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

**Summary**
The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance to internal customers who have high-level network and systems requests. The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing complex infrastructure in support of Topcon's business requirements. The successful candidate requires knowledge of network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, cloud computing, network monitoring and related services. In this role, the candidate should have good problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.
**Responsibilities**
+ Resolve complex issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure and implement network and systems projects will limited supervision. Identify improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
+ Monitor network performance and integrity using tools such as Solarwinds. Monitor systems health and make recommendations for additional resources or hardware.
+ Perform routine network maintenance such as installing and updating software, firmware and security patches as required with adherence to change management policies and procedures. Maintain complete technical documentation
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree preferred, with appropriate hands-on experience, in a technical area of study.
+ Professional certification (Cisco, PAN, AWS, Azure, VMWare, etc.) or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
+ 3+ years of experience working with Cisco networking technologies.
+ Experience supporting nextgen firewalls such as Palo Alto or Fortinet.
