Job Description
Manufacturing Technicians work in a discrete manufacturing environment, run and maintain factory equipment and assembly processes, monitor and check the product quality and document results in strict adherence to protocols.
Responsibilities & Duties
* Perform equipment setup, operations, equipment adjustments and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality and efficiency.
* Run tests on all assemblies and equipment to test for safety and productivity before they are put into production.
* Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
* Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it.
* Provide regular productivity reports, and incident reports if an accident occurs.
* Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process or apply six sigma to reduce output variation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* 0 -2 years of relevant experience
* Bachelor's Degree in related field
* Equipment maintenance
* Proficiency with Power Tools.
* Ability to comprehend blueprints

Responsibilities
- Develops, fabricates, installs, and insulates HVAC supply and return duct systems, both in renovation and repair work. Installs fume hoods, ducts, and other ventilation systems. Assists in the installation of air handling units, steam and chilled water coils, autoclaves, and other heavy equipment. Performs electric and acetylene welding, brazing, and cutting; flat, vertical, and horizontal welding. Fabricates, installs, and/or maintains gutters, downspouts, grills, food carts, awnings, and various other metal fabrication as assigned by the supervisor.
- Removes and/or replaces pumps, fans, and electric motors around campus. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on laboratory exhaust fans and motors. Repair/rebuild pumps, fans, and electric motors to be returned to service. Assist with plumbing, fountains, and flagpoles as needed.
- Reads and follows blueprints, written repair orders, and other instructions related to job duties. Maintains tools and work areas in a safe and workmanlike manner.
- Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities University.
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational may substitute for experience.
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain upon hire.

The Sheet Metal Worker will perform a combination of assembling and finishing of various metal and plastic machined components according to company specifications, using hand and power tools, reading blue prints, and from verbal instructions. In addition to operation of CNC machines and powder coating of components. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.
The Sheet Metal Worker is responsible for:

Finishing aluminum, copper, steel, and plastic parts used in assembly of power supply units

Grinding, filing, or deburring surfaces of parts using various methods and equipment

Preparing parts for powder coating including washing and masking based on company specifications

Setting up and operating CNC punch presses and press brake

Pemming component parts based on company specifications

Reading work orders and following bill of materials and bill of operations

Setting up and assembling heat sinks, while working with the robotic arm
The education and experience for this position includes:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 1-year experience is preferred

Good mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools
