Radiation Oncologist - Northwestern Medicine
The Department of Radiation Oncology and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologists to staff our NM West Region Radiation Oncology Program, including our Warrenville Cancer Center (Warrenville, IL), NM Proton Center (Warrenville, IL), Delnor Cancer Center (Geneva, IL), and Kishwaukee Cancer Center (DeKalb, IL) located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Northwestern Medicines west region cancer centers are located in the beautiful western suburbs of Chicago recognized for great schools, restaurants, growth, and one of the best areas to raise a family.
Qualified candidates must be board certified and/or eligible by the American Board of Radiology and be able to qualify for a faculty appointment at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. The following is a list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. It is not meant to be all-encompassing as there may be other duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Diagnosis and treatment, simulation and planning.
- Interact with patients for consultations, follow up visits, on treatment weekly visits.
- Consult with colleagues pertaining to the practice of Radiation Oncology.
- Regularly participate in Department meetings and business affairs of the Department.
- Provide supervision during the treatment schedule and provide guidance as needed to the Radiation Therapists, Dosimetrist and Physicist teams.
- Review all daily images and patient set-ups as needed/ requested.
- Participate in achieving goal top decile in patient satisfaction.
- Communicate any patient concerns to management.
Northwestern Medicine Radiation Oncology has a number of locations in the Chicagoland area integrated into the Department of Radiation Oncology, Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and Feinberg School of Medicine. Northwestern Medicine is financially strong with a long tradition of excellence and provides world class radiation oncology services and breakthrough research close to where our patients live and work. Anchored by our NM Academic Medical Center, the system has state of the art, precision technology including a Proton Center, Gamma Knife Icon, Brachytherapy, radiopharmaceutical therapy and all other significant modalities of radiation oncology. In addition to excellent clinical practice, the Department of Radiation Oncology has a fully accredited ACGME Medical Residency Program, CAMPEP accredited Physics Residency and JRCert accredited School of Radiation Therapy. The Department also has a robust clinical and laboratory research program funded by the NIH, DOE, DOD, Foundations and Industry Sponsors.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and is very competitive. This position is a full-time continuing appointment and will report directly to the West Region Radiation Oncology Service Line Director. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
