Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to law enforcement trainees and staff at FLETC training sites. This role supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in accordance with FLETC Directive 248-01 and federal occupational health standards, including treatment of minor injuries, health screenings, and coordination of care.
There will be one Registered Nurse assigned to each FLETC site: Artesia, Charleston, and Glynco.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
* Provide nursing care including assessments, treatments, and health education for trainees and staff
* Administer medications
* Advise patients that prescriptions that must be filled off-site at their own expense
* Ensure medications are stocked and reordered based on projected needs
* Assist in the documentation and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses:
* Support completion of the TAIRS electronic questionnaire
* Complete the Health Unit's portion of TAIRS within 24 hours of treatment
* Guide patients through Workers' Compensation procedures and eComp forms
* Refer patients to private physicians when extended care is needed
* Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA and FLETC standards
* Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications

Ideal Candidate
