DETAILS: Substitute positions work on an as needed basis during the 9.5 month school year. Must be willing to substitute at least (5) times throughout the school year.
COMPENSATION: The Substitute Nurse rate of pay is $29.61 per hour. A full day for a Substitute Nurse would be an 8 hour day. This position works an irregular schedule therefore, this position does not include benefits.
JOB SUMMARY: Support the physical, mental, emotional and social health of students and their success in the learning process; support student success by providing health care assessments, identifying problems, planning, intervention, follow-up and health evaluations for all students within the school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing.

- Provide first-aid and emergency care to the school community.

- Provide health related assessments and monitoring as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between the school district, medical professional, and parents regarding student health care needs or concerns.
- Identify students with health care needs or potential health care needs and assess potential risk factors.
- Assist with management of care for students with special health care needs.
- Informs administration and/or counseling staff of suspected cases of child abuse, drug abuse, or other instances when signs of abuse may be indicated.
- Coordinate and collaborate with parents, staff and consented health care providers regarding student plans of care.
- Manage and administer medications to students according to policy and procedure.
- Appropriately document all health room visits.
- Notify parents or designated responsible person regarding the health status of the student.
- Other related and appropriate duties as assigned by the Administration.
