The Hampstead School District, located in Southern N.H. is seeking substitute school nurses to work in our elementary school (pre-K through grade 4) and middle school (grade 5 through 8) as needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
School Nurse Subs
Substitute school nurses provide direct and indirect care to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician orders, and individual health plans; and collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure effective daily health supervision of all students. Function in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, National Association of School Nurses Code of Ethics, and the School District Policies and Procedures.
Current registered professional nurse, designated as R.N. as defined and determined by state law, and currently licensed in NH is a requirement. NH School Nurse Certification from the NHDOE is desirable.
Terms of Employment
Temporary position no employee benefits
Wages set forth by the Hampstead School Board
Daily and hourly rates with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch as applicable

Recommendation letters don't have to be on formal letterhead when not reasonably practicable therefore email messages converted to PDF format for uploading are acceptable. Sub interviews are once a month on a designated day from September through June; applicants who submit completed applications with required materials will be invited to the SAU Central Office in Hampstead to discuss candidacy and qualifications.
Interview Schedule: Afternoons of the third Wednesday each month beginning September through June. (Subject to change as needed.)

- Attends a minimum of 12 hours of in-services per year.
- Acts as a resource to others (students, peers, and other departments) in provision of client/patient care.
Who You Are:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in a related field desired.
- Certification/Licensure: Current Nursing Assistant License in the State of New Hampshire required.
