• Provide transfer or transportation for patient or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff member, as required.
• Adherence to work schedule and overall attendance.

Thank you for your interest in taking the state certified nurse aide training program. Our program is a fast-paced class that is completed in 17 days.
We will run a criminal background check as well as consult the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. No one with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, and/or found on the abuse registry can be admitted to the class.
Since the class is only 17 days, no absences or tardiness is permitted. You must maintain a grade average of an 85 to continue in the course.
Books and Supplies ($50) will be needed as a deposit on the first day of class and will be returned upon graduation!
If you have been accepted into the class, you will receive a phone call/email the week before class begins. Class sizes generally range from 12-14 students
Employment Opportunities: Students are chosen based on the facility need, shift availability of the candidate, entrance exam score, flexibility of the candidate, previous work history and attitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Bathing (sponge bath, shower, tub, shampoo)
+ Back rubs
+ Grooming (nail filing, hair care, oral hygiene)
+ Changing bed linen
+ Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
+ Skin care to prevent breakdown
+ Assisting the patient with toileting activities
+ Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
+ Plans and prepares nutritious meals
+ Assists in feeding the patient, if necessary
+ Takes and records oral and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
+ Assists with mobility, positioning, transfers, and using transfer/mobility devices as applicable, according to the plan if care
+ Assists with active and passive range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency
+ Assists patient in the self-administration of medication
+ Does patient's laundry, as appropriate
+ Meets safety needs of patients, including proper use of equipment (foot stools, side rails, etc.), maintains compliance with Maxim Falls Prevention program, Infection Control program, and patient-specific Emergency Management plan as applicable
+ Reports patient's condition and significant changes to the supervising Registered Nurse
+ Adherence to Maxim's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
+ Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
+ Successful completion of a nursing assistant/home health aide or competency training and evaluation program as applicable, per State/Federal regulations
+ Successful completion of Maxim's Clinical Competency Program for home health aides, including successful completion of examinations with score of 80% or higher, and demonstration of all required skills per State/Federal regulations
+ Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
+ Meets Maxim and applicable State Background Investigation requirements
+ Possession of current CPR certification and First Aid training/certification as applicable, per State regulations
+ Participation in Tuberculosis screening/testing requirements per Maxim policy and as applicable, per State regulation
+ Successful completion of Maxim's orientations/trainings, in-service program, and Maxim training examinations, with a score of 80% or greater
