Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves the hospital patient population by providing assistance and direct patient care which meets the assigned unit needs through regular rounding. You will play a vital role on the acute care nursing team by following our patients throughout their recovery process and returning them back to their independence!
Here's what you'll do when you join us:
- Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives.
- Answers patients' call lights promptly and communicates/completes needed patient intervention.
- Handles all organizational information in a manner that ensures strict confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed to include: transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting.
- Delivers routine labs and supplies within hospital.
- Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN.
- Applies monitors and reports to the RN the effectiveness of any safety device and/or mobility alarm.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed and assists in keeping unit clean and organized.
If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Graduate of a Nursing Aide program. Certification and current listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
- BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintains certification.
- Experience in an ambulatory or inpatient health care setting with ability to multi-task and manage multiple patient/family/nursing/physician priorities within short time frames preferred.

Job Summary
As a member of the nursing team with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You'll be responsible for the care of our patients according to their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Essential Functions

Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.

Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.

Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.

Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
- Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.

Summary
Under the direction of the Registered or Licensed Nurse Manager/Designee, the Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.
Essential Job Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors. Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
• Supports the admission, transfer, and discharge process for the Resident.
• Assist Elders with daily living functions such as dental care, feeding, bathing, dressing/undressing, nail care, hair care, and shaving according to expressed preference.
• Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed. Provide daily Range of Motion Exercises. Record data as instructed. Answer Resident calls promptly.
• Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties (i.e., exposure to body fluids, lifting, transferring, use and disposal of personal protective equipment).
• Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., gait belt, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving residents in accordance with plan of care.
• Report all changes in the Resident's condition to your supervisor/designee as soon as practical.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information. Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy.
• Enters information and documentation accurately in Care Tracker in accordance with company policy, practice and standards.
• Follow established End of Life Procedure.
• Attend and participate in scheduled training, in-service training, mandatory annual in-service training and educational classes as required/needed.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the community policies and procedures.

Essential Job Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Michigan certificate of completion state approved nurse aide training program.
• Minimum of one-year experience within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
• Must possess superior customer service skills and professionalism.
• Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
