The UCLA Santa Monica Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join our Orthopedic Surgery Department. You will provide administrative and academic support. Primary duties include:
+ Front desk duties (triage calls, greet and check-in patients)
+ Responsible for patient interviewing and encounter registration
+ Scheduling and confirming patients appointments
+ Obtaining all financial and demographic information from patients
+ Accurately encounter patients utilizing proper Care Connect functions
+ Explaining in the BHS procedures and necessary information to patients including required authorization and estimated liability
+ Verifying insurance benefits and accurately record benefits for finance review
+ Reviewing accounts for change in status and re-verify benefits and/or authorization
+ Transporting radiological studies (i.e. x-ray, CT scan, MRI) and other test results
+ Other duties as assigned
Salary range: $30.36/hr - $43.49/hr
Qualifications
Previous experience in a medical office setting
Working knowledge of Medi-Cal, HMO's, PPO's, third party payors, etc., authorizations and eligibility requirements and regulations
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook e-mail and basic knowledge of PC applications
Skill in performing basic arithmetic
Ability to work independently and exercise appropriate decisions with minimum supervision
Strong communication skills to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds

Provides ongoing updates and communication with outpatient oncology attending as well as primary care physician. Assists discharge coordinator in the discharge process. Optimizes patient outcomes through the integration of performance improvement initiatives and collaboration with the healthcare team, including case management. Dictates consultation notes, discharge summaries, and letters regarding patient care. Screens telephone calls from patients and families regarding care. Participates in lectures, rounds, conferences, and workshops. Assists with the development of research protocols, investigations, and clinical trials. Provides administrative support for physicians and assists with development of critical care pathways and protocols. Develops and implements progressive information technology alternatives in the inpatient setting. The NP will be cross trained between the two inpatient oncology services, Solid Oncology and Heme Malignancies, in Santa Monica. The NP may be asked to cover on the Heme Malignancies service if there is a need. If inpatient census falls below work guidelines, the NP may be asked to work instead in the outpatient Santa Monica hematology/oncology practice. Tasks would be the same, but in the outpatient setting.

The Center for Pelvic Health and Wellness at UCLA, a subspecialty urogynecology practice within the UCLA Department of Urology focused on the evidence-based care of chronic pelvic pain, is looking to fill the role of a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
The NP is expected to provide exemplary patient care consistent with the UCLA Health CICARE Service Excellence. + Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN/DNP with a FNP Specialty - required.
+ Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-required
+ State of California NP, National Board Certification -required
+ Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care -required
+ Demonstrated work experience of over 2 years in management of outpatient medical problems- required
+ 2 years NP experience- required
+ Bilingual Spanish/ English communication skills-preferred
+ Working knowledge of other health, mental health and social services agencies in the area-preferred
+ Ability to utilize Excel, word, and other software programs-required
+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel-required
+ Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required
+ Ability to set priorities-required
+ Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed, and grammatically correct correspondence-required
+ Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
