Job Description

As a skilled nursing facility physical therapist, you'll provide PT services to help patients regain their health and mobility. Working at a skilled nursing facility, you'll assess patients' mobility, strength and function, develop treatment plans, maintain records and provide patient and family education. You'll play a critical role in helping individuals develop strength, reduce pain and improve function.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

• Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.
• Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care.
• Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.
• Assists residents with range of motion exercises, and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting for nursing assistants to provide care to veterans within the community living center. This is an open continuous announcement for extended care service. Applicants will be sent as vacancies exist.

Nursing assistants function as a member of the health care team and provide direct patient care to inpatient veterans at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The nursing assistants are expected to provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, feeding, toileting, transferring, turning and engaging the residents in meaningful activities and restorative nursing programs.

Work schedule: full-time, sunday through saturday, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 80 hours per pay period or 7:00 am to 7:30pm (2 weeks). Hours may be rotated or extended based on the needs of the medical center and our veterans. Compressed/flexible schedule: not available. Financial disclosure report: not required.
