Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ambulatory Care Nurse - NYU Langone Hospital- Long Island Pediatric Center, Days.

In this role, the successful candidate The Ambulatory Care Nurse will support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. In this role, the Ambulatory Care Nurse will participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities, collect patient healthcare data systematically using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments, and collaborate with licensed providers to develop patient centered plans of care that prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes. The Ambulatory Care Nurse provides comprehensive care in support of all patients manifested requirements through: administration of treatments and medication, acting as a sentinel for untoward events or symptoms, disease prevention guidance, rehabilitation care, public health care, and supportive care for symptom relief including health teaching and health counseling.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests
  • Collects patient health history
  • Records information in electronic health record
  • Provides information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans as directed
  • Administers medications (including vaccination, IV therapy, oxygen administration), provides comprehensive wound care, and performs phone and in-person patient triage for clinical concerns.
  • Assesses and monitors patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia.
  • Assesses and interprets patient information, making treatment decisions as appropriate
  • Consults with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients
  • Directs, supervises, and delegates to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and technicians as needed to support patient flow and efficiency

  • Case-finding: Identify unidentified co-morbidities or emergent complications and report to the provider so that an intervention may be ordered.
  • Co-ordination: Integrate care with other health care providers such as respiratory therapists, physical therapists, social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, dieticians, navigators, and discharge planners.
  • Provision of direct care services: Provides physical care in the entire patients manifested requirements including but not limited to administration of treatments and medication, acting as a sentinel for untoward events or symptoms, disease prevention guidance, rehabilitation care, public health care, and supportive care for symptom relief including health teaching and health counseling.

TASK/PROCEDURE
  • Collects and documents patient clinical historical and assessment data.
  • Performs onsite testing, e.g.: POC lab testing, EKG, specimen collection (including phlebotomy), auditory & visual test, psychiatric & physical risk screening, fetal monitoring (ante partum) and non-stress test, spirometry, allergy skin testing, bladder, tb skin testing and result evaluation.
  • Performs medical and nursing treatments in accordance with plan of care, provider orders, and NYSBON scope of practice.
  • Perform procedures, e.g.: hot & cold applications, placement/ removal of orthopedic appliances, casts, splints, suture and staple removal, urinary bladder irrigation w/ and w/o chemotherapy, insertion/removal/catheter care of urinary catheter, ear irrigation.
  • Applies and removes dressings, and performs wound care Assists with Minor and Major Procedures
  • Performs patient monitoring including pre, intra, post procedure, testing, medication administration, medical/surgical treatment and/or sedation
  • Provides medication administration: (IM, PO, SQ, ID, IV topical, inhalation, ocular, vaginal, rectal) as per provider orders or protocols to patients in practice, following nursing rights of medication administration and organizational policies. This includes oxygen therapy.
  • Facilitates medication refills by reviewing clinical information and preparing order for provider (prospective) authorization in EMR.
  • Administers IV therapy: including blood, blood products, IV fluids, chemotherapy (with proper certification), IV medications via peripheral or central venous devices.
  • Starts and discontinues peripheral IV lines.
  • Maintains peripheral and central IV lines and manages complications with appropriate certification

Communication and Message Management
  • Ensures clinical in-baskets are managed and encounters closed in a timely manner.
  • Receives, documents, and reports critical lab values as indicated
  • Relays normal and abnormal clinical results, follow up, and explanation to patients, as directed by provider.
  • Performs preliminary review of results for prioritization of urgent findings, then notifies provider for final verification.
  • Performs in person and phone triage for patient clinical concerns with appropriate escalation; provides clinical advice as within RN scope and/or direction from provider.
  • Performs Care/Case management of a defined population via multi-disciplinary plan to coordinate/facilitate patient care as needed.

  • Identifies, through case-finding and critical analysis, patient, family and/or community deviations from health and wellbeing; advocates for, initiates and/or recommends appropriate actions including the establishment of safe environments.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York. If hired after 9/1/25: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required; Associate Degree in Nursing may be approved contingent upon approval from Nursing Leadership, with a minimum of two years nursing experience in applicable area and enrollment in a baccalaureate nursing program to be completed within 2 years of hire. Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS, Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification. Membership in pertinent professional organizations.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Sonographer - NYU Langone Ambulatory Care - Commack. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing all types of Echocardiography testing. Assists the physicians in the delivery of safe, age appropriate patient care during testing in the Echocardiography Lab. Works collaboratively with the RNs and MDs in a Health team forum to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care. Participates in unit/department/institution performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes based on professional practice standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned

  • Performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines. Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology and or customizes exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality. Performs intra-procedural transthoracic echocardiograms as ordered. Performs transthoracic echocardiograms as ordered for inpatients enrolled in Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved clinical trials research protocols. Transthoracic echocardiograms may be performed in the Echo Lab or done as a portable study at the bedside.
  • Responds to stat calls accordingly. Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow

• Performs Point of Care testing such as: EKG, Glucose Testing, and Pregnancy Test, Urinalysis, following organizational policy & procedure, and with documentation of any required competency in place.
• Preps the appropriate patient encounter ensuring that all relevant information for visit is up-to-date including bloodwork, radiology images, medications, and past medical history. 
• Reviews and imports any “Prepare for your Visit”,  “Outside Information” and patient history prior to provider encounter
• Works with clinical team to ensure logbooks related to equipment, specimen collection and other clinical safety measures are followed per FGP standards.
• Supports best practice workflows for MIPS by updating medical records with patient vital signs and Histories (Immunization, Medical & Surgical).  May also be required to scan and/or upload diagnostic reports according to their description and link them to their associated order in Epic.
• Maintains patient privacy as it relates to HIPPA standards.
• Handles appropriate patient calls and documents outcome of all patient communications as needed. Refers all clinical questions/concerns to RN/Provider.

• Assists with inbasket message management including any necessary tasks related to patient medical advice requests as per best practices
• Utilizes EPIC functionality to review and update patient records as well as maintain communication with peers and supervisors related to patient care
• Assists physicians with procedure and/or set-up according to the specialty where necessary 
• Stocks exam/treatment rooms and/or supply closets with medical supplies, linen and medical equipment as needed. Effectively communicates as supplies need to be replenished.
• Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use, , following organizational policy & guidelines, and with documentation of required competency in place.
• Supports FGP Clinical Quality Management by facilitating appropriate documentation and maintenance of clinical supplies and equipment.
• Reviews appropriate downtime procedures as it relates to patient visit 
• Completes annual competencies such as Fire Safety, Hazardous Waste, Medsled, HIPPA compliance, etc. 
• Partners with administrative and clinical personnel to complete prior authorization, medication refills and referrals related to patient continuity of care.
• Assists with prescription refill request by locating requested prescription in EMR, identifying last patient visit, and tasking RN, LPN, or Provider to evaluate, set up and/or process for renewal
• Accompanies physician into exam room and transcribes history, including history of present illness, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies, physical exam, laboratory and radiologic orders as dictated by the MD and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient.
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in the care of patients and families by completing assigned patient care tasks; provides competent, safe, and compassionate care with emphasis on an understanding of the challenges faced by hospitalization, undergoing procedures or diagnostic tests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists in escorting patients.
  • Obtain vital signs, weights, and Electrocardiograms (EKG) when needed. Assist with blood collection phlebotomy as needed. Ensure chart is available, with relevant lab work and test reports if indicated, for physician when the physician sees the patient. Assists physicians with procedures (e.g. GI procedures, all medical exams).
  • Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient. Assist with light housekeeping duties which include spills. Assists patient with obtaining food, toileting, ambulating and maintaining comfort.
  • Assures completion of patient charges as per policy.
  • Clean and sterilize designated equipment after use. Answers telephone in treatment area and assists staff in scheduling treatments. Assists patients and communicates with Physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
  • Stock exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms.
  • Assists with training of new Medical Assistants. May perform administrative responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School or equivalent. Graduate of Medical Assistant program OR 2 years of Medical Assistant experience. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, customer service skills. Basic knowledge of computers.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred. Medical Assistant Certification Preferred. Knowledge of EPIC Ambulatory Preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology Preferred.

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Assistant - NYU Langone Medical Associates - Bethpage. In this role, the successful candidate Assists in the delivery of primaryHealth care and patient care management. Provides the necessary and appropriate support to ensure effective and efficient patient care throughout the practice site, through greeting, directing, and scheduling of patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and clinical practice site personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Greets patients and escorts them into the exam room; Verifies that patients have signed in and retrieves patient chart. Assists in a variety of treatments under supervision of physician. Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments. Prepares patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs, review meds and chief complaints. Prepares exam rooms and equipment for physicians. Provides quality patient care. Screens and triages patient telephone calls for referral to physician, as appropriate. Takes vital signs, patient histories, EKG s, holter monitors, glucose testing, finger sticks and other clinical skills that are consistent with those of a medical assistant working in this practice.
  • Answers and addresses all telephone communication promptly and courteously, including: prescription refills, authorization requests, patient questions, patient issues, referrals, scheduling changes and emergency appointments. Maintains schedule in computer to ensure no gaps in schedule. Checks in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the patient s medical record in computer. Responsible for daily confirmation of patient appointments, with appropriate notations indicated in the computer system when assigned. Takes messages.
  • Performs various clerical duties in a timely and accurate manner. Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information .Answers telephone and provides front desk support including scheduling appointments, obtaining referrals and copayments. Obtains test results from hospitals, laboratories, radiologists, doctor office etc. as requested. Retrieves and files charts. Maintains patient files, records and other information, as needed. Mails reports and completed forms if necessary. Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.
  • Attends staff meetings as required by Practice Manager. Interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Provides copies of educational material to patients.
  • Checks patients out when POS billing is not available. Contacts insurance carriers to obtain referrals and prior authorizations. Assists and obtains referrals to specialty practices when required.
  • Complies with all HIPAA guidelines, policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED. OtherGraduate from Medical Assistant program OR at least 2 years of Medical/Office related experience. 2 years Medical Assistant/Office related experience OR Graduate of Medical Assistant program. Excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, multitasking, and customer service skills. Basic math and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Certification. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of IDX. . Assists patients with diplomacy and tact in all situations without a loss of composure. Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, physicians and other staff members.Handles constant interruption. Understands patient needs and maintains patient confidentiality.
