GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills; coordinates work performed by support personnel; effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families and members of the healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care, which are appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.

  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard, and possibly specialized, occupational therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.

  • Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.

  • Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement including committees and educational offerings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university

  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist or eligible.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Master's Degree.

  • Current driver's license may be required.

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
