Job Description

As an Operations Research Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Hertz Fleet team. In this role, you will be analyzing data, building reports, managing inputs for our optimization model, and making decisions that affect the Hertz rental fleet and other business segments. The goal of the Fleet Department is to minimize the cost of fleet while ensuring we have the right car in the right place at the right time to maximize the demand captured. You are encouraged to look for options that reduce cost, improve utilization, fulfill additional rental demand, and increase car sales opportunities.
Starting salary is $55K; commensurate with experience.
**A Day in the Life:**
This role has an impact on our business analytics and fleet management.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Understand underlying connection between different aspects of the optimization model to better control model results.
+ Translate fleet optimization model recommendations into business implications and monetary impacts.
+ Write queries in SQL, R, or Python for pulling, cleaning and inputting data.
+ Build automation tools for reporting and individual responsibilities to help improve fleet processes.
+ Create concise and insightful data visualizations in Tableau.
+ Collect, categorize, maintain, and analyze data using a range of quantitative techniques.
+ Perform detailed analysis of key business metrics and provide actionable insights.
+ Partner with other departments to model, design, and build reporting using Tableau, Excel, Databricks, S3, Athena, etc.
+ Manage fleet decisions that impact our TNC, Cargo, and Core business segments.
+ Develop new processes that enable us to best manage our growing EV rental fleet.
+ Create new and used car allocations by analyzing data and communicating with business leaders to ensure cars are going to the proper locations based on specific parameters.
+ Oversee the data for geographical regions within the optimization model to ensure outputs reflect what is best for the business.
+ Develop insights from complex unstructured data and maintain data integrity to ensure information is sent in a timely manner.
+ Provide data support to peers as well as broader team stakeholders.
+ Ensure consistency and clarity in processes so data flow stays up-to-date and on-schedule.
**What We're Looking For:**
+ Bachelor's degree required.
+ 1+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree preferred in the following disciplines:
+ Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Sciences, Software Engineering
+ Extensive experience with scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, SAS.
+ Proven ability using data to drive changes, improvements and optimization in an operational environment.
+ Competency in identifying data sources and manipulating and extracting data for dashboards, visualization, or reports.
+ Practice using Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization tools.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
+ Familiarity with linear programming is a plus.
+ Exposure to supply chain topics in a professional setting is a plus.
+ Knowledge of AWS, S3, Databricks, Gurobi, Athena is a plus.
