Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00/ hour
Position Summary
The Shipping/Receiving Operator performs tasks and duties related to the efficient coordination of shipping & receiving, material tracking, yard & shop material/inventory and related documentation and administrative procedures for the Signals & Communications division. Duties also include providing assistance to the yard and wiring shop as it pertains to material storage and arrangement as well as other duties common to warehousing, and inventory management.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
+ Performs duties related to shipping & receiving, including loading and off-loading, accurately recording material received, accurately shipping material as needed
+ Responsible for coordination of material including creating necessary paperwork for the efficient tracking of material or inventory as needed (i.e. packing slips & bill of lading)
+ Coordinating yard & shop materials by efficiently managing project specific material, & inventory
+ Assisting Procurement Specialist (i.e. materials lists for all jobs, locating material specific to all jobs) while ensuring efficient management and inventory
+ General wiring shop and yard assistance as necessary
+ May perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Ability to work as a team, to jointly carry out assigned tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
+ High school graduation plus a completion of a College Diploma or Vocational Training in logistics, warehousing or similar
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ 1-2 years related experience in warehousing, logistics, or shipping & receiving
+ Ability to operate a forklift
+ Working knowledge of the services and goods that to purchased, warehoused, or required in-the-field
+ Demonstrated ability to use procurement applications and other common office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and Explorer Contract Manager. Prior experience with JD Edwards or similar is an asset
+ Excellent attention to detail, can problem solve, prioritize and work to deadlines
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
+ Ability to self-manage, work independently, and participate in a team environment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
+ Works in a warehouse and yard environment, while assisting in office duties as necessary
+ Frequent lifting, moving material, on feet and moving around for long periods of time.
+ Some sitting at desk & computer as needed
+ Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard
+ Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
+ Ability to understand and follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations

Unload and receive inbound furniture orders which will require manually moving large, heavy goods.

Use scan technology to document pertinent carton level information, including condition, quantity, and warehouse location of material.

Proactively monitor order management systems to ensure that all orders have been received properly and that detailed descriptions are provided for any Overage/Shortage/Damage issues.
