  • Implement and manage secure base OS images , ensuring all underlying systems remain hardened against security threats.
  • Continuously scan, monitor, and patch OSS dependencies to mitigate supply chain risks and enforce best practices for dependency management.
  • Research and evaluate trusted open-source security solutions like Google's Assured Open Source Software and recommend their adoption where applicable.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate state-of-the-art SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning tools into the CI/CD pipeline to detect and remediate vulnerabilities early.
  • Define and maintain best practices for secure coding to ensure all code developed by Glean engineers is free from vulnerabilities.
  • Develop automated security validation tests to enforce vulnerability-free deployments across the stack.
  • Lead the adoption and, if necessary, develop custom security solutions to manage and mitigate security risks at scale.

**This position is contingent upon Funding/Contract award, special access program and acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers' requirements prior to start.**
**Basic Qualifications for Staff Application Software Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 year of experience
+ Experience with C/C++ or similar language using object oriented development
+ Experience with Python
+ Experience with software development lifecycle (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc)
+ Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
+ Familiarity with embedded software development
+ Familiarity with computer architecture
+ Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration frameworks (CI/CD)
+ Familiarity with operating systems such as: RedHat Enterprise, CentOs, and Windows 10
+ Familiarity with various version control systems (GitLab, BitBucket, etc) and Agile software planning tools (Rally, Jira, etc)
+ This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
+ Current active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w. Polygraph prior to start.
**Preferred Qualifications Staff Application Software Engineer:**
+ Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
+ Software Architecture skills (Design Patterns, Objected Oriented Design)
+ Experience with containerized application development lifecycle
+ Real-time/multi-threaded embedded application Programming Experience
+ Experience with hardware interfaces such as: 1553, Ethernet, Serial and/or PCI-E
+ RTOS Experience (VxWorks, Linux)
+ Proven communication and team leadership skills
+ Experience working with technical customers
+ Experience with software engineering and architecture practices
Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $256,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Schneider Electric is looking for a Systems Application Software Engineer II for the Raleigh, NC area.

This position is typically held by an individual who has 3-5 years' experience in the industry and has advanced knowledge of Schneider Electric products and outside vendor hardware knowledge, advanced understanding of HVAC or other building or electronic control system and software applications.

This position is responsible for providing independent, high quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets and schedules, and/or providing central software support for HVAC, as well as participating on a team to design, install and service building automation control and facility management systems.

Works under direct supervision of a Project Manager or Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Influence and persuade internal and external customers, listen effectively, and solicit input from others
  • Handle multiple demands and assignments, prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently and manage resource procurement and utilization
  • Program BAS sequences per plans and specifications
  • Review specifications, drawings, and control sequences
  • Assist in resolving design issues through RFI's and field surveys
  • Participates in field startup using standard start up and checkout processes
  • Contribute to developing software standards and streamline processes
  • Graphic front end, human machine interface, page development
  • Designs software code at an intermediate level with limited support from senior engineers
  • Maintain and adhere to standards for estimating and budgeting software designs
  • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by the leadership
  • Have working knowledge of MS Office, File Structure, Microsoft Visio

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Mechanical Engineering degree with Computer Science experience, preferred
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in the Building Automation Controls industry
  • Possess knowledge of basic BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols
  • You desire to work effectively and cooperatively with diverse team members to achieve overall project quality and customer satisfaction within the project budget and schedule constraints
  • Self-motivated
  • Possess problem solving skills
