This strategic role will influence leaders across industries, market segments, and technical domains to drive transformative business outcomes. As a Principal-level advisor, you will be responsible for identifying patterns across customers, developing new architectural patterns, and creating innovative capabilities that define the future of cloud adoption.
Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, as a Delivery Consultant you will be proficient in architecting complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You'll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS. The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides assistance through a collection of offerings which help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver focused guidance through our global specialty practices, which cover a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Advisory Consultant, you will:
1. Drive significantly complex technical initiatives and strategic business transformations across industries and market segments
2. Lead the creation and delivery of novel technical services, capabilities, or industry-level solutions used globally
3. Identify patterns across customers and develop new architectural patterns and design principles that become industry standards
4. Cultivate strategic relationships with senior leaders and serve as a trusted advisor on transformative initiatives
5. Shape the evolution of platform service features and create new offerings that maximize emerging technology impact
6. Drive strategic sales opportunities from inception to closure at the executive level
7. Create scalable mechanisms and lead new initiatives that transform how customers adopt cloud technologies
8. Provide widely recognized technical thought leadership through industry presentations and executive engagements
9. Mentor and develop leaders while growing a culture of collaboration, empathy, and inclusion
10. Balance risk and quality while creating mechanisms to address recurring escalation patterns

Basic Qualifications
1. 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred
3. 5+ years experience in enterprise cloud transformation initiatives involving C-suite executives with at least 1 project from the following industries: Financial Services, IT, Telecommunications, Media, Healthcare, Manufacturing, or Retail
4. 5+ years experience implementing technology solutions that delivered minimum 15% cost reduction or $1M+ annual revenue growth per project across 3+ enterprise initiatives
5. 5+ years experience working cross-functional with teams of 10+ members each, managing complex programs spanning at least 2 distinct organizations per program
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS experience preferred, with proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation)
- AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) preferred
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python)
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Basic Qualifications

**What you need for this role:**
+ Minimum 1+ years of experience within a public accounting firm or public sector environment (local, state or federal preferred) performing external audit, consulting, or in the accounting and finance function
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting
+ Strong accounting skills
+ Knowledge of internal accounting controls, professional standards and regulations and related systems
+ Prior experience with audit, accounting, and/or consulting standards (GASB, AICPA, GAS including Yellow Book/Green Book)
+ Prior experience with internal controls including documentation and testing of controls
+ Interest in serving state and local government clients

The **_Government & Public Sector (GPS) Advisory Team - State & Local_** at Cherry Bekaert is growing and we are looking for talented individuals to be a part of it. As a member of the GPS team, you will help clients protect and enhance the value of their organizations by leveraging their system of internal controls to enable growth, manage risk, and define sustainable operations.
**What your days look like:**
We support the performance of governmental accounting advisory engagements by delivering timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting support, including implementation of new accounting standards, account reconciliations and financial statement closing procedures, financial statement preparation, and on-demand governmental accounting support. A significant portion of the work performed centers in and around solving a government's accounting and financial reporting challenges from implementation of new standards or staffing or event-driving needs at the state or local government.
As a **_Staff Associate_** **,** you will be responsible for performing specific engagement activities under the supervision of a more senior team member, participate in discussions with clients, and assist with drafting deliverables.
