About the role



This role leads day-to-day field operations in a market: supervising installers, supporting installs and troubleshooting, and enforcing quality, safety, and schedule standards. They act as the field lead, bridging direction from the Regional Operations Manager to frontline installers.




Responsibilities:



  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate installation technicians and crews in your market(s).
  • Be field-based: participate in installs, trouble tickets, and spot troubleshooting when needed.
  • Coordinate daily work assignment, routing, scheduling, and dispatching of installation crews.
  • Monitor installation quality, compliance with SOPs, safety, and company standards.
  • Perform spot quality audits, ride-alongs, and inspections to enforce workmanship and consistency.
  • Escalate persistent issues to Regional Ops Manager, and lead remediation plans locally.
  • Ensure each installer meets productivity targets (jobs per day, adherence, first-time success).
  • Interface with customers on installation issues, escalate complaints, and lead resolution efforts.
  • Support new technician onboarding, training, and coaching on best practices.
  • Track and maintain field metrics: completion rate, rework, missed appointments, dispatch efficiency.
  • Coordinate with logistics / supply chain for parts, materials, and tools to avoid job delays.
  • Enforce safety protocols, ensure crews have PPE, follow ladder / site safety rules.
  • Collaborate with program, operations, and engineering teams to relay field feedback and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, job records, and reporting for your team.



Qualifications:



Skills Required


  • Experience specifically in FTTH / in-home fiber install operations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical/trade schooling preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in fiber / broadband / telecom installation or field operations.
  • 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory capacity over installers or field technicians.
  • Strong ability to work on the ground in installations and also lead people.
  • Proficiency with routing, scheduling, and dispatch planning.
  • Good troubleshooting & technical skills in fiber drop, CPE, ONT, WiFi basics.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage metrics, field KPIs, and act on performance data.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record; ability to travel locally.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) when needed.


Preferred

  • Certifications in fiber optics or broadband (CFOT, SCTE, etc.).
  • Experience with field workforce management or mobile dispatch systems.
  • Some familiarity with escalation paths, SLAs, or regional operations support.
  • Prior experience interfacing with customers in field installation contexts.



Physical



  • Field-heavy role: substantial time on site, climbing ladders, accessing tight spaces, working outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift tools or equipment (up to ~4060 lbs) occasionally.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, homes, basements, attics, rooftops

**Position Purpose:**
The incumbent will be accountable for assigning daily field work assignments, supervising and inspecting maintenance, repair and installation work performed by field technicians.

**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Support field work with field employees.
+ Coordinate and schedule a variety of maintenance, installation and repair projects for the water and sewer systems in the Jersey City water system.
+ Allocate and assign work crews to specific jobs based on job requirements and staffing ability.
+ Supervise and inspect maintenance, repair and installation work to be completed in the Jersey City water system.
+ Perform documented safety inspections of system maintenance crews and inspectors during course of daily field inspections.
+ Respond to field complaints or problems received from customers (residential, commercial and client) by conducting physical site inspections.
+ Investigate site for planned projects to determine necessary safety precautions, special tools and equipment, in addition to other special project requirements.
+ Participate in developing and implementing the department's operational scheduling and standard operating procedures.

The Field Supervisor supports operations for remotely managed accounts by performing on-site supervision of Security Professionals (SPs) and ensuring site coverage at all times. **RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Visit assigned post locations on a regular basis (specific schedule varies) to monitor performance, address daily operations issues, communicate policy changes or company information, adjust staffing schedules as needed, and make post inspections to ensure professional image (including the hygiene and uniform appropriateness of officers) and quality standards are being maintained; post inspections also include checking that Post Order manual and all other post and training information is being properly maintained and updated, and that the Post is being properly maintained, cleaned and organized
+ Conduct on-the-job training, in coordination with site supervision, of new employees assigned to post, or when changes to post orders are made, this may include orientation to the post, review of post orders, routine responsibilities, and how to respond to emergency situations or specific client needs

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
+ Provide 100% oversight and ensure that field oversight employees/contractors are completing required project tasks, ILS field observations, project schedule, QA/QC, and as-builts. Leads the resolution of field construction problems in coordination with engineering staff, EPC partner, and others, as needed.
+ Performs daily observations on safety and monitors contractor safety training to ensure ENT expectations are met. Participates in daily tailboard and actively engage in contractor meetings (both safety kickoffs and weekly project site safety meetings).
+ Leads teams to achieve operational excellence by: 1) setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, 2) learning/teaching process improvements, 3) measuring/monitoring performance levels, 4) providing feedback positive/negative and coaching performance improvements to employees.
+ Accountable for motivating a diverse and geographically dispersed Entergy and Contractor work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues.
+ Manages transmission, substation and distribution construction projects while meeting budget obligations. Tracks and controls the construction phase of projects, including costs, schedule, and construction quality.
+ Works closely with manager and other groups within Project Delivery and Power Delivery. Works with Project Management through various stage gates of the project to provide a construction viewpoint and input. This includes bid package review, design check, RFP documentation, outage plans, risk assessments, environmental, and ENs. Identify issues in the early stage gates to achieve a high level of cost and schedule certainty.
+ Provides input for formal construction plans and proactive mitigation plans. Reports variances from process, project scope and/or design that affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
**Minimum Requirements**
**Education required of the position:**
+ BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) or equivalent work experience.
**Experience required of the position:**
+ 10+ years' experience in work-related field (Transmission, Distribution, with min two years in a senior position role) OR 8+ years' experience in engineer role (Transmission, Distribution, with min two years in a senior position role). Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
**Skills and abilities required of the position:**
+ In-depth understanding of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering principles and practices
+ as applied in the electric utility environment with demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solve.
+ Experience in managing/executing capital projects.
+ Working knowledge of transmission and substation construction and standards, safety procedures & policies.
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with little direction with a high level of organization.
+ Strong working knowledge of basic computer programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, strong leadership, decision making and follow through skills.
+ Ability to both lead and work in a team environment across multiple disciplines and work groups.
