Summary
Operates automatic screw machines to produce quick-connect bodies at a determined production rate while maintaining quality.
Essential Functions
Maintains a clean and safe work area. Operates/manages multiple automatic screw machines. Complete in-process inspections using gages provided and following control plan. Follows “3-Container System” procedure to ensure parts are conforming to print. Document appropriate information on downtime sheets and in grind log. Maintains production goals. Communicate from shift to shift on machine conditions. Notifies Production Supervisor of any defective condition or non-conformities. Make tool changes and proper tool adjustments. Maintain all operator preventative maintenance on machines per schedules. Inspect and sorts as needed. Processes chips in chip system. Conduct bar stamping as needed
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of automatic screw machines and strong mechanical ability. Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
Education / Experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating automatic screw machines
Strong knowledge of gages and basic computer skills are strongly preferred
Additional Information
This is a 3rd shift position. Regular hours are 10:00 pm to 6:30 am (Sunday night to Friday morning)

- Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements
- Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements

Key Accountabilities
- Setup multiple non-similar machines that require moderate to complex setup and assist others.
- Feed materials into machine, operate and monitor machine operations, according to production schedules and make complex adjustments as necessary to ensure product specifications are met.
- Use hand and power tools perform preventative and autonomous maintenance, troubleshoot complex machine issues, support other Operators in troubleshooting and providing guidance.
- Track production and quality records both manually and electronically.
- Operate powered mobile equipment including forklift or pallet jack.
- Unload and prepare product for movement of finished product.
- Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures including equipment lockout-tag outs.
- Other duties as assigned
