The Engineering and administration of network management solutions (NMS) for a multi-platform global network infrastructure. Perform fault and performance monitoring services for internal teams, providing them with the functionality and data required to proactively manage the health and capacity of the network. Summary:
The Engineering and administration of network management solutions (NMS) for a multi-platform global network infrastructure. Perform fault and performance monitoring services for internal teams, providing them with the functionality and data required to proactively manage the health and capacity of the network. Design, deploy, administer, and provide operational support for NMS tools. Evaluate new monitoring solutions. Integrate the NMS tools with asset database and other corporate systems. Automate tool administration. Liaise with network operational and engineering teams to define and implement monitoring standards. Participate in network management design and peer reviews. Conduct tooling audits to assess proper operational coverage and build remediation changes as required. Coordinate with external vendors for tooling updates and upgrades. Document tool architecture and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day support, administration and customization of our NMS applications and services
- Design and deployment of new monitoring feature
- Planning, testing, and upgrading of our core NMS applications and infrastructure
- Work with our network operations team to ensure all network devices are monitored correctly
- End User education
- Certification of new network devices, and operating versions
- Development of scripts for automation of our tools, exchange of data with other system
- Data analysis
- Evaluation of new products
- Liaison with external vendors
- Documentation
- At least three (3) years of experience with design, customization, and deployment of network management tools supporting the monitoring and data acquisition for large scale, global deployments of network devices (routers, switches, voice devices) in mission critical environments.
- preferably with experience with Broadcom DX Spectrum and IBM SevOne vendor products
- In-depth understanding of network management protocols, concepts (SNMP v1/2c/3 and SNMP MIB's), and enterprise infrastructure services (Syslog, NTP, DNS, AAA, LDAP, CDP, LLDP)
- Experience of networking products for Orchestration, Alert, Incident, Problem, Capacity and Performance, Wifi, Security, and Flow Management
- Development of Python scripts for the collection and processing of network related data, using REST API's, network protocols and sql/NoSql databases
- Administration and support of enterprise-level RedHat Linux servers, including the deployment and support of system-related monitoring applications
- Experience with developing NMS tool integrations and automations related to tool administration and runbooks
- Analysis of network packet capture; flow technologies, including NetFlow and sFlow
- Experience of configuring network devices (cisco and Arista), and knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network security protocols (802.1x), and wifi protocols. Experience of certifying and validating health and performance data collection of network devices including tool customization for handling vendor specific SNMP traps, events and KPI's
- Power user in the use of analytical tools (ie Splunk, ELK, Grafana)
- Working knowledge of databases and data extraction

We are seeking individuals who have worked in an industrial/service/sales environment to fill the position of System Monitoring Specialist for our Fredericksburg location.
Job Description
The selected candidate will:
1. Be responsible for all Sigma Air Utility compressed air systems through:
1. Remote Monitoring
1. Remote dial-in to the compressor station and evaluate the demand to supply profile.
2. Independently act on system alarms and e-mail notifications.
3. Pro-actively coordinate with servicing partners and/or site personnel to address critical alarms, including dispatching technicians after hours.
4. Monitor service intervals, coordinate scheduling of on-site service and maintenance activity.
5. Schedule and coordinate site visits for regular systems inspections.
6. When required perform site audits to identify potential areas of improvement.
7. Analyze data with Kaeser proprietary software to correlate faults to system operation and recognize system trends.
8. Provide reports based on analyzed data for escalations and management of site performance.
2. Coordinates with the Technical Department to:
1. Independently review service intervals and optimize based on site data analysis.
2. Provide as necessary "real world" data for machine service and maintenance lifecycle calculations.
3. Evaluate necessary improvement initiatives.
4. When necessary supervise site work to assure adherence to the specifications.
5. Perform task and supervise activities within the approved budgets and provide justification when cost overruns occur.
6. Monitors compressors and compressed air stations outside of SAU as required.
2. Responsible for learning and following all applicable procedures and work instructions relating to the Company's quality and environmental system.
3. Performs all other duties assigned by the Manager.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate's background will include:
+ High School Diploma required; Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience 3+ years job related experience.
+ Good customer service experience.
+ Previous experience as a technician, troubleshooting or mechanical aptitude preferred.
+ Familiar with data processing including graphing and interpretation preferred.
+ Understanding of compressed air systems and the application of supply side components preferred.
+ Ability to understand and produce/edit technical documents.
+ Good communication skills/phone skills required.
+ Computer skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace.
+ SAP experience preferred.
