POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Commercial Truck Drivers are responsible for safely operating a tractor and trailer, curtain van, or flatbed to deliver building products to local customers, adhering to company policies, as well as DOT and other state and federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive a tractor and trailer, curtain van, or flatbed to deliver building products to customers throughout the local area.

• Safely operate vehicle in accordance with company policies, as well as DOT and other state and federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.

• Follow pre-planned routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency.

• Some routes may require a combination of commercial vehicle sizes, including doubles and pups.

• Loads will be fully loaded by warehouse personnel prior to departure.

• Tie down cargo safely and correctly for transportation.

• Make multiple customer stops and occasionally assist and observe customers in unloading items by hand or with a forklift.

• Ensure that cargo is unloaded safely and securely, including ensuring proper weight distribution and securing with appropriate methods, and ensuring that no product damage occurs to customer orders as well as next stop/future customer deliveries.

• Interact with customers in a professional manner at delivery points, ensuring proper delivery procedures.

• Perform thorough routine pre- and post-trip DOT inspections on the vehicle. Perform routine basic maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle readiness, including but not limited to, checking fluid levels, lights, safety equipment, and tire pressure.

• Communicate and collaborate with dispatch management to promptly report any maintenance issues or safety needs and ensure proper vehicle maintenance per DOT guidelines.

• Regularly communicate with dispatch management for updates to delivery status, delays, or issues, and to receive instructions. Promptly report any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management.

• Maintain accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, delivery receipts/logs, inspection reports, customer signatures, and other relevant documentation.

• Some routes may require driving in snow, and chaining up, depending on the time of year and weather.

• Some routes may require overnight runs during the week; company paid meals and lodging will be provided for overnight runs.

• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle. Engage in safe work practices and adhere to OrePac’s established safety program and policies at all times.

• Forklift duties may be assigned to this position. Any assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate. Forklift duties will include staging and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the forklift with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations, and as required by FMCSA regulation 49 CFR § 391.11.

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. In addition, a Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.

• Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.

• Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.

• Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.

• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.

• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.

• Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.

• Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.

• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required.

• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.

• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

• Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.

Basic qualifications:

• Must be able to understand and adhere to all safety requirements
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds individually & more than 50 pounds with a Team Lift (2-person lift)

• Must have a current, valid Medical Certificate or be willing to obtain within 90 days of employment

Join Our Team! We are looking for dedicated Commercial Truck Drivers to ensure safe and efficient delivery and pickup of containers to and from customer locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a commercial truck with a lift mechanism for safe loading and unloading of containers.
• Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of your vehicle and lift equipment.
• Manage add-on deliveries to meet business demands.
• Utilize company handheld devices for navigation and delivery confirmations.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
• Ensure containers are clean and presentable for delivery.
• Handle rental paperwork and payment coordination with customers.
• Communicate effectively with your supervisors regarding customer inquiries and issues.
• Assist in repairs of containers and lifts either in the field or at the storage center.
• Support storage center functions when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class A License without air brake restriction.
• At least 21 years of age due to insurance requirements.
• Must meet driver qualification standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Basic math skills sufficient to perform required duties.
• Proficiency with electronic devices and software preferred.
• Ability to attend a required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
