Qualifications:

  • BLS & ACLS certification required.

  • No Dialysis experience is required.

  • Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic

What you can expect:

  • Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.

  • Our PCTs care for multiple patients.

  • Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.

  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.

  • Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

The Patient Care Coordinator is the first point of patient contact and requires professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency to ensure smooth front-office operations, proactive patient engagement, exceptional service, and effective coordination with clinical teams.

Schedule: 5, 8-hour shifts per week: Monday - Friday during open clinic hours (7:00 am - 5:00 pm)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and obtaining necessary documentation
  • Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone with a professional and compassionate demeanor
  • Conduct patient outreach calls to schedule appointments, including preventive care visits, follow up on care plans, and address outstanding needs
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments, ensuring accuracy in patient records
  • Meet outreach, scheduling, and preventive care quality targets and measures
  • Serve as a primary resource for resolving patient inquiries or concerns
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations
  • Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow and operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records and update electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Support training and onboarding of new patient service staff members
  • Generate reports and assist in operational improvement projects

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of general office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of electronic medical record experience
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or similar healthcare setting preferred
  • Previous health insurance knowledge
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, medical terminology, and EHR systems preferred

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Kinwell is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator to join our Ballard clinic in Seattle, WA. The Patient Care Coordinator will manage all aspects of the patient greeting and check-in. As the initial Kinwell representative, this individual will assist with prepping charts for daily appointments, manage the patient's appointment scheduler, maintain the cleanliness and supplies in the patient reception and waiting area, communicate arrival times to teammates and assist with check-out and follow up duties for patients. Lastly, this position will provide phone support for Kinwell's Call Center as needed, submit Health Information Management (HIM) requests and manage faxed documents sent to Kinwell.

This role qualifies for +7.5% pay differential for employees assigned to a home location in a qualifying Kinwell Clinic, which is currently our Ballard, Denny Way, and Westlake clinics.

What You'll Do
  • Manage patient appointments, coordinate with clinicians, and schedule follow-ups.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, answering phones, emails, and managing patient inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate patient records, confirming details such as insurance, treatment plans, and next steps.
  • Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, including following treatment plans, referral instructions, and scheduling follow-up procedures.
  • Advocate for patient needs and concerns to medical staff and administration.
  • Educate patients on available services and resources.
  • Work closely with the billing department to ensure proper insurance verification and claims submission.
  • Provide patients with cost estimates and answer questions about insurance coverage.
  • Assist in resolving any insurance-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare clinicians and clinical support staff, including document preparation and correspondence.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing patient feedback to improve clinic operations.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare or patient service role or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and insurance verification.

Essential Responsibilities:
+ Assists in preparation of the unit, patient rooms, and beds for receiving patient admission, returning surgical patients, transfers, emergencies, or discharges. Provides hygiene care, which includes providing or assisting in bed baths, oral hygiene, hair care and shampoo, back care and rubs, perineal care, dressing patient, and changing bed linen.
+ Prepares patients for meals, serves and removes food trays, and assists with meal or feeds patients. Distributes water and nourishment to patients. Performs other duties as assigned by the RN as patient care needs change. Orients patients and significant others to call lights, bed controls, side rail usage, bathrooms phones, TV waiting areas, and visiting hours. Assists and accompanies patient and their belongings (including personal property) in the admission, transfer, and discharge process. Answers patient call lights, anticipates patient care needs, and makes rounds to assigned patients on an ongoing basis. Communicates with patients in a courteous and helpful manner. Establishes and maintains communicates with the health care team. Performs data collection and documentation of TPR, BP, wt, ht, I/O, activity, diet, and hygiene in an ongoing, timely, accurate, and concise manner.
+ Demonstrates the use of good body mechanics and provides for patient safety when transferring, ambulating, turning, lifting, and positioning patients. Acts appropriately in emergency situations. Performs routine treatments and patient care duties listed on the skills inventory form and under the direct supervision of the RN.
+ Identifies and reports changes in the patients condition to the RN within an appropriate time frame. Maintains verbal and written information in a confidential manner. Assists in straightening patient rooms, cleaning overbed tables and bedside stands, keeping patient care areas clean at end of each shift. Collects and transports specimens for delivery to appropriate departments per hospital standards.
+ Completes work order for equipment that is out of service and leaves copy in the appropriate designated place/unit for follow up. Adheres to Infection Control Policy including but not limited to: a) demonstrates body substance precautions by wearing gloves and other protective attire to avoid body substance contact when appropriate; b) adheres to the KFHPW hand washing policy; c) complies with the proper handling of waste; d) maintains a clean work area. Provides postmortem care under the direction of the RN. Demonstrates initiative and responsibility for improving skills and expanding knowledge through continuing education or on the job learning experience. Consistently demonstrates an appearance consistent with current KFHPW dress code policy.
Basic Qualifications:
