Advanced Practice Provider Acute Care Cardiology Team Lead Southside
Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider Team Lead to manage our Inpatient Acute Care Services Team on the Southside of Atlanta, including Fayetteville, Newnan and Sharpsburg. This is a full-time position working days.
This is a great opportunity to be employed by one of the nations leading cardiology programs with excellent APP support. You will work alongside some of the most respected and highly trained physicians. Piedmont Heart Institute provides the full line of cardiovascular services with dedicated electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical and research services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises and provides leadership to a team of APPs daily including the responsibility for all staffing decisions for APPs in designated area, including but not limited to the following:
- Schedules & Recruitment
- Annual reviews
- Performance/behavior management
- Management of yearly budget
- Strategic planning for the service line including establishing goals/metrics along with performance evaluations, and interface with Physician leaders.
- Compliance with annual training, flu shots, etc.
- Supports the overall day-to-day administrative and clinical activities of the team
- Provides expert medical care under the direction of the collaborating physician.
- Maintains an effective operating environment assuring efficient and safe operations of the team.
- Responds to patient, physician and staff needs.
- Participates in 1:4 on-call Schedule.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians, staff, and APPs in order to promote cohesiveness.
- Performs assigned shifts as an APP to support the team.
- Manages up matters of significance to APP Director.
- Maintains sufficient scheduling to support volumes and to manage crises events.
- Assists in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting.
This position will largely function on an independent basis, and ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification

Description:
The role involves caring for patients in an outpatient surgery setting.
Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics.
The unit consists of 13 rooms, and the daily census is approximately 13 patients.
Staffing ratio is based on 1-2 patients per nurse during the day shift.
Floating to other departments may be required.
Travelers are expected to work on designated major holidays.
Holidays are defined as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, working on those holidays is mandatory.
If three major holidays occur during the assignment, travelers are expected to work two of them.
Compliance with documentation is required to ensure a timely start.
Two supervisory references are preferred for the application.
Weekends will be required every other week unless specified otherwise.
There are no call requirements associated with this position.
Candidates must be prepared to submit necessary documentation promptly to facilitate onboarding.
Candidates should be flexible with location and shift assignments.
All candidates must have their relevant certification documents ready for submission.

This position requires a registered nurse with a minimum of two years of experience in outpatient surgery.
New candidates without prior travel experience are welcomed.
The patient population includes individuals from infants to geriatrics.
The nurse will work in an outpatient surgery unit with 13 rooms.
The nurse will utilize unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR.
Scrub colors will be provided by the facility.
The nurse will be required to work every other weekend unless shifts are specified.
The nurse must comply with all requirements to start on time.
If not compliant in time, there may be a push back of two weeks due to the orientation schedule.
Candidates will be reviewed clinically to determine fit.
Availability to work major holidays is required.
Candidates are expected to work on one major holiday during the assignment period if it falls within their schedule.
If two major holidays occur, the candidate must work both.
Should three major holidays occur during the assignment, the candidate will be expected to work two.
Compliance documentation must be submitted according to the required deadlines.
References from two supervisory individuals are highly preferred.
The maximum request for time off is seven days.
Holiday time off requests are limited based on the holiday schedule.
Candidates must submit core items and complete necessary labs promptly to ensure on-time start.
All candidates must be away from previously affiliated facilities for a full year before reapplying for travel positions.
