What youll do
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain piping systems and fixtures for water and wastewater in commercial/industrial facilities.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures (faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, tubs) and appliances that use water (water heaters, boilers, dishwashers, icemakers).
- Diagnose and fix leaks, clogs, corrosion, and sewer/drain issues; repair or replace pipes, valves, and related components.
- Read and interpret plumbing diagrams/blueprints ; adhere to plumbing codes.
- Perform scheduled/unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and site surveys.
- Accurately quote/estimate time and materials; manage a work log and document work at job sites.
- Communicate clearly with general contractors and clients and provide guidance on system upkeep.
What sets you up for success
- Experience: 4+ years as a commercial plumber or completion of a 4-year plumbing apprenticeship.
- Credentials: Plumbing license/certification preferred.
- Skills: Code knowledge; ability to read blueprints; solid problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills; general computer literacy for documentation.
- Math & reasoning: Comfortable with basic math and applying common-sense instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Work environment & physical demands
- Work in mechanical rooms and active job sites with exposure to moving equipment, heights/ladders, and varying outdoor conditions (wet/humid, extreme heat/cold).
- Regular lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally more), frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands/fingers; occasional exposure to loud noise and electrical risk. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Summary of Job: The Plumbing Professional is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in residential homes and some light-commercial applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify required tools and special equipment; select the type and size of pipe required.
- Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment
- Assemble and install valves and fittings; install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls, underground storm sanitary and water piping systems, sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, conditioners, plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim
- Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, graded, and meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Communicate with customers in a clear, confident manner throughout the entire service so that they are aware of what is going on inside their home/business
- Work safely and help ensure that those you work with are working in a safe manner
- Operate drain cleaning and clearing equipment; perform jetting and milling when required
- Operate or assist on jobs requiring excavation; trenching, and hand-digging when required
- Perform or assist on partial and full repipes
Requirements
- Candidate must have a minimum of 3+ years of residential and/or commercial experience, a combination of install and service
- Able to pass a background and MVR, drug & background check; CDL not required
- All employees of Hoffmann Brothers must consider safety as their primary job. General knowledge of safe working practices and federal/state OSHA requirements is required as applicable.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
To adequately perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop hands to finger, handle controls; hear, and talk. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and up. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons. The work environment will subject employees to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.

· Perform all plumbing service and replacements to applicable codes.
· Repair of drain, sewer, and water lines.
· When issues are identified, prepare a detailed finding report with pictures to discuss with the customer, present repair options to include cost using the options sheet.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification Requirements:
Experience preferred in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse plumbing service issues.
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
A valid driver's license, and approved to drive by Company's insurance carrier.
