DescriptionRetail Production AssistantSUMMARY OF POSITIONRetail Production Assistants are responsible for sorting and processing textiles and wares. The RPA is expected to be courteous and professional while upholding the values of -Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, AND DUTIESProcess donations for hanging, tagging, tallying, and pricingMaintain production levels to achieve store goalsWhen required, courteously address customer complaints, referring to the Store Manager or Crew Leader as necessaryEnsures inventory is distributed efficiently within store fixturesAccept donations from the general public as needed, providing donation receipt upon request from the donorProvide excellent customer serviceMaintains a clean, organized work area that is presentable to the general public and meets agency standards Attend scheduled meetings as requiredPerform custodial duties as necessaryAdhere to and enforce all safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to others or him/herself and damage to any property, equipment, and/or inventoryEmbrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the communityContribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goalsComply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESDemonstrate a professional mannerism with a high degree of customer service skillsAbility to communicate effectively with internal employees and external customersAbility to work well with others in a respectful and collaborative work mannerAbility to comprehend and follow instructionsAbility to read, and write with the ability to comprehend and complete agency forms as required for operational purposesMay be required to pass pre-employment criminal background check and Drug/Alcohol screenBilingual preferred but not required PHYSICAL FUNCTIONSAbility to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periodsWeather conditions - variable - including extreme heat and cold, may work outside for extended periodsAbility to work in a humid and/or dusty environmentAble to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. or more with 2-person assistanceGoodwill Industries of South Texas Inc. is an EO employer M/F/Vets/Disabled and other protected categories.
