This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for coordinating and providing direction for the workflow and scheduling functions of a unique, fast-paced manufacturing facility. This position is also responsible for managing production personnel and executing production for multiple departments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness across the facility. Sets a leading example by supporting and adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Responsible to ensure all tasks are performed using proper SOPs/GMPs, safety procedures and other regulations.
- Facilitate tools and resources as needed for the success of direct reports and other plant personnel.
- Ensure inventory is accurate and properly maintained by following MYMS standards.
- Maintain accurate records of information such as daily receipts, inspection results, etc.
- Must be able to direct others in keeping with production schedules, goals and housekeeping responsibilities.
- Monitor and update Workday time keeping as needed as well as approving time each week.
- Daily paperwork review.
- Lead, coach, train, direct, and discipline employees.
- Partner with multiple departments toexecutedepartment orders and goals are met. Will work heavily with on-site quality personnel as well as several corporate positions supporting the facility.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ months leadership background OR High School diploma/GED with 2-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Candidates in the rotational Land O' Lakes programs (TAP/MMT/DMT) will be considered
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent Teamwork skills/ability to build positive relationships that promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
- Understanding of Manufacturing processes and production flow.
- Mechanical background preferred, simple troubleshooting and project design.
- Strong computer skills that include Microsoft Office and ability toadapt and utilize other programs.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Strong understandingin Food safety andManufacturing processes.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure without supervision.
- Willingness to help the production team by filling in on the line when short-handed.
- Must be able to lift 55lbs
- Must be able to stand on your feet for duration of your working day at times.
- Willingness to run production on Saturdays when needed.
Operational Hours : Plant operates 24 hours/5 days a week; weekends as needed. This shift is5:30 am - 3:30 pm, with the expectation of additional hours as needed. This position serves as the main point of contact for off-shift personnel as well with 17 direct reports across three shifts.
Salary Range : $69,040 - $103,560
In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges

- Lead daily operations of the sand and gravel plant to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of plant personnel during the day shift
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime

Essential Experience and Skills

- Ability to maintain composure and professionally present information, responding effectively to questions
- Motivation and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment with fluctuating shift schedules, extensive movement across the plant, and occasional lifting of heavy objects and working in confined spaces
Work Environment
This role is based at a sand and gravel plant and involves working in outdoor and industrial settings. The position requires physical activity, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs/ladders, and exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
Physical Demands of the Job
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Frequent exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- Ability to operate and inspect heavy equipment and machinery safely
