**Summary:**
This job description is meant to define some of the qualifications, requirements, responsibilities, duties and functions of personnel assigned to Machine Operator. Currently including (after proper training) but not limited to Pangborn, Wash System, Re-face unit, O D Coating application, Hard Band Unit.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Maintain and care for assigned equipment, and follow all safety policies
+ Carry out directives as given to ensure daily production is not interrupted
+ Clean pipe sufficiently enough to carry out required inspections and notify superior if unable to clean properly
+ Follow and adhere to all Quality System and HS&E requirements
+ Maintain a clean work environment
+ All other related duties as directed by management
**Education**
+ High School diploma, GED
**TECHNICAL SKILLS**
+ Knowledge of daily checkpoints on assigned equipment
+ Able to recognize when and how to change parts and service assigned equipment as needed to properly clean pipe
**BEHAVIORAL SKILLS**
+ Good verbal communication skills

O'Neal Steel currently has an opening for a (2nd Shift) Machine Operator at our Lafayette, LA facility.
The Machine operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
What you will be doing:
+ Following all safety guidelines and wearing all necessary protective gear.
+ Set up and operate a variety of processing equipment; fiber laser, saw, shear, press brake, roller, plasma, etc.
+ Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment, forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
+ Reading, interpreting, and following work instructions and blueprints, specifically 3D prints.
+ Use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
+ Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, add and subtract fractions and decimals.
+ Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
Must be able to work 2nd Shift (12:00PM - 8:00PM) Monday-Friday. Overtime will be required as needed.
*Upon offer of employment, candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
