Job Description
Akima Facilities Operations (AFO), an Akima, LLC company, offers a comprehensive range of flight-line, limited depot and full depot level aviation maintenance services for rotary and fixed wing aircraft. From maintenance, inspection, and repair to modifications and technology upgrades, our teams ensure that each aircraft is always at its appropriate mission readiness level.
The QAR will work with the team to ensure employees meet requirements to effectively implement the contract at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, FL.
This inspector implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations, inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services or operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions; ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner, specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished, communicates deficiencies to proper persons, maintains Quality Control files, and document results of all inspections.
**Responsibilities**
+ Responsible to conduct quality inspections and surveillance on the work performed during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events to include: quality of work, work order content, aircraft maintenance records, maintenance deferrals, weight & balance changes to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and in compliance with the regulations set forth by the FAA.
+ Subject matter expert on current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limits and procedures, as set forth by the manufacturer of the product undergoing inspection or other forms of inspection information such as current FAA Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins, and OEM requirements.
+ Perform internal audits to ensure company programs, systems, processes and procedures are effective.
+ Be completely familiar with all inspection methods, techniques and equipment used to determine the quality or airworthiness of a part, component, or aircraft undergoing maintenance or alteration.
+ Maintain proficiency in the use of various types of inspection aids.
+ Ensure all aircraft inspections are conducted by an A&P or IA with current FAA certificates.
+ Ensure evaluation guides are developed and reviewed annually for adequacy.
+ Assist with the development of the Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP), suggest improvements and coordinate with Management.
+ Use the AFO forms for documenting surveillance/inspections.
+ Maintain technical competency by reviewing changes to the maintenance manuals.
+ Assist with the management of the Training Program. Ensure new employees training plans are developed. Evaluate trainers and trainee during training. Review employee training records for accuracy.
+ Collect and maintain necessary data applicable to the maintenance operation to effectively identify and analyze trends in equipment and system performance.
+ Assist maintenance personnel interpret and apply maintenance data (AD's, SB's, & STC's) publications and manufacture alerts/reports or changes in publications.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ 5+ years directly related aviation experience.
+ FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
+ Effectively communicate to team members, vendors, and Government representatives.
+ Must be able to read and understand technical publications and drawings.
+ Motivated to stay current on applicable technical material provided for that purpose.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
+ Ability to lift 40 pounds.
+ Current Driver's License.
+ HS Diploma.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen.

The Quality Control Engineer (QCE) is responsible for performing many of the quality control tasks at the project level as defined in the quality control plan for the project. The QC engineer exercises judgment and discretion in making quality control-related recommendations, implementing quality control policies and procedures, and handling a wide variety of quality control matters in the field and office. The QC engineer is typically assigned to a single project but may be required to support multiple smaller projects, when necessary. This is a safety sensitive position.
**Position Qualifications:**
+ A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
+ Minimum of 1-2 years' experience on large commercial construction projects.
+ A valid Driver's License.
+ Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
+ Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
+ Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.
+ Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
+ Strong understanding of federal, state, and local reporting requirements and regulations.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Interface directly with the owner's quality assurance team on all quality-related issues.
+ Be technically experienced and capable of comprehending the specifications, standards and code requirements for all disciplines.
+ Participate in submittal reviews, weekly QC meetings and preparatory meetings.
+ Perform all initial and follow-up inspections and manage the punch list process. Inspections are conducted to verify that trade partner work complies with the project specifications and applicable codes. This includes performing material inspections to verify that the products are to specifications and that storage, staging and material handling methods are implemented.
+ Maintain records that identify areas inspected, tests performed and any significant findings. Initiate deficiency reports and track their resolution to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
+ Work closely with trade partner quality control personnel to understand their QC procedures. Review the trade partner's quality control logs and ensure corrective actions are implemented, when required.
+ Assist with the coordination and scheduling of third-party testing and source inspections. Interface with third party testing agencies, as necessary.
