Under general supervision, each individual performs only those tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities. Under general supervision, the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) I, in their role as Testing Personnel as defined by CLIA, carries out all policies and performs all tests in accordance with the department's standard operating procedures. Works independently in an efficient and organized manner to assure accurate results and records. What you'll need to succeed:

  • You are able to work the overnight shift.
  • You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • It is not required to work in our lab, but if you were a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT), this experience and education would be a plus.
  • Ideally, you will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers).

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Prepares specimens for examination. Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and/or bacteriological tests according to established laboratory procedures. Uses automated equipment and instruments capable of performing tests simultaneously.
+ Performs and documents start-up, quality control, calibration, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on instruments and laboratory equipment per established laboratory protocols. Assists with inventory management to maintain adequate supplies for patient testing.
+ Performs routine testing, preparing of specimens, and evaluation of test results. Evaluates QC and calibration results for acceptability following established laboratory policies before reporting patient results.

The individual will focus on selling companion diagnostics, clinical trials, and sponsored testing of Quest Diagnostics.

This is an individual contributor, remote sales position with periodic national travel (25% - 50%).


  • Partner with Business Leaders to drive sales with consultative selling approach that includes building trust/credibility with clients and partners, understand client context and business requirements, connecting client needs to our diagnostics capabilities, and articulate the benefits of Quest Diagnostics Pharma and Diagnostic Services
  • Prospect and establish new client relationships
  • Write and present proposals and executive-level presentations
  • Lead client communication and contract tracking throughout all phases of the sales process

Required Work Experience:
