What you can expect:
- Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4 patients at a time.
- Technician Duties . To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
- Continuous Improvement: We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for our patients and teammates as we aim to build the greatest health care community the world has ever seen.
- Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
- Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
- Schedule . Shifts can begin as early as 4:30 am and can vary based on patient needs. Your expected shift will be shared during the interview process
Some details about this position:
- Pay for this role is $15-16 /hr. (Depending on experience)
- Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic
- Hours of work may vary during the training period; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week during training
- You must be flexible on the final home clinic placement as it may be in a different location; there is also the potential to float to various clinics during and after your training
- You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday
Requirements:
- Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it's safe for our patients.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Patient Care Tech II (ER)

Job Description
The Patient Care Tech II position is available to assist healthcare practitioners in the daily functions of the Emergency Department. The PCT will be a member of the ED team and will be responsible for working cooperatively with team members, leadership, and physicians to perform tasks needed to provide optimum patient care. This position functions under the supervision of the Emergency Department Physician in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the National Scope of Practice for Paramedics. The Patient Care Tech II will assist the licensed nurse in the implementation of plan of care for patients presenting to the emergency department, and will report directly to the charge nurse. This Job Description will be used to guide the Patient Care Tech II in determining which approved skills can be performed for this role.
- Current certification in the state of MO as a paramedic. NREMT required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a field paramedic with EMS agency.
- Must hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Is enrolled in a professional or practical nursing education program and has or will complete within ninety (90) days a fundamentals of nursing course; OR
- Was a professional nursing or practical nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examinations in the past three (3) years; OR
- Is certified as a nursing assistant as defined in section 198.082, RSMo; OR
- Has documentation of current registration as a certified nursing assistant in another state that meets the requirements listed in 42 CFR 483.151 and 483.152; OR
- Has documented experience as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician, or surgical technician in the past three (3) years; OR
- Has proof of completion of a patient care technician training program which meets the curriculum requirements of this rule or UAP training program in Missouri or another state which meets the requirements of this rule within the last three (3) years; OR
- Has completed a professional or licensed practical nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country; OR
- Has proof of certification as a patient care technician
