The Procurement Specialist, Repairs will be responsible for overseeing all phases of outsourcing part maintenance, repair, overhaul, and delivery, as well as adherence to all AAR policies and procedures.
**What you will be responsible for:**
+ Manages, Plans, creates, organizes, tracks, and expedites the outsourcing of part repair
+ Develops, evaluates, recommends, and manages repair vendors, ongoing relationships, and quality.
+ Review, negotiate, approve vendor quotes, and support management of vendor contractual obligations
+ Periodically analyze and discuss program performance periodically
+ Meet or exceed all Procurement Key Performance Indicators
+ Communicate with various departments to manage the timely flow of parts (e.g. Program Management, Operations, Accounts Payable, Shipping, Quality, etc.)
+ Perform vendor and order management for assigned parts to proactively ensure customer commitments are maintained
+ Ensure each transaction is compliant with all purchasing policies and procedures
+ Support various departments with and participate in government and regulatory audits
+ Suggest and participate in continuous improvement activities to drive process efficiencies
+ All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, Government contracting, or aviation procurement strongly preferred
+ PC literate (Excel, Word, Power Point, & Access)

**Job Description:**
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated person whose work will reflect Instron's commitment to customer satisfaction. Working from home, out of the Greater Chicago, IL area, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation, on a wide range of Instron's products.
You will be provided with a company vehicle, appropriate tools/equipment, including a laptop computer, cell phone, and MI-FI device and the assurance that you have the support of well-established service operation. You will have regional responsibility for customers located within Wisconsin and Illinois. Occasional travel to other locations in the US may be required, as much as up to about 40% overnight travel.
**What We Are Looking For:**
Successful applicants will have a two or four-year technical degree from an accredited university and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems. Equivalent military / trade school training may be accepted in lieu of degree. Must have the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret basic technical information involving mechanics and electronics associated with materials testing systems. Must be able to interpret blueprints and schematics, understand electrical, mechanical and electronic systems and be familiar with PC's including operating systems and Windows applications. This role requires a high level of autonomy, as well as superior organizational, time management and customer service skills.
· Prior field service experience strongly preferred
· Automation systems experience is a plus
· Experience performing preventative or corrective maintenance on servo hydraulic systems preferred
· Experience with materials testing preferred, but not required
· Experience delivering hands on and classroom training on topics technical in nature preferred

**Compensation Information:**

We are seeking Field Service Technicians to join our dynamic and innovative teams. These positions are part of the Aftermarket Parts Team. The role involves traveling with products once they are ready to ship, installing them, and training staff for new clients or equipment. This position requires individuals who are mechanically inclined, possess strong customer service skills, and can work autonomously. There are two teams - One sitting local to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the other in Carol Stream, IL - will be traveling a majority of the time but will ideally be close to one of the two company sites. Can sit local in any surrounding states of Iowa.
Responsibilities
+ Install, service, and troubleshoot products in full-cycle processes.
+ Engage directly with clients and provide customer service support over the phone.
+ Disassemble and reassemble equipment efficiently.
+ Travel approximately 30-40 weeks per year, with durations of 2-3 weeks for large equipment and 1 week for small equipment.
+ Train client staff on new products and equipment.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of relevant experience.
+ Exposure to PLC troubleshooting, preferably Siemens.
+ Proficiency in reading BOMs and blueprints.
+ Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience in industrial service and reverse engineering.
+ Associated degree or above in a technical field
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of PLC programming, Allen-Bradley, Siemens systems.
+ Experience with AutoCAD 3D, Solidworks, Inventor, and design.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Preferably based in the Midwest, Iowa or neighboring states.
