Summary:
Under general direction, assists the sr. research assistant or other research investigators by performing moderately complex research and experimentation following established protocols; performs routine lab and equipment maintenance, such as cleaning glassware, counter tops, and equipment; sets-up and operates various scientific apparatus; assists with research projects and may perform independent research or performs various clerical and editorial duties; compiles, processes and analyzes data; performs supervisory and training duties.
Responsibilities:
- Research tasks include conducting phone interviews in Spanish and English with research study participants.
- Conducting literature searches and preparing bibliographies for scholarly papers.
- Creating tables and graphs.
- Creating presentations.
- Tracking and reporting data collection efforts.
- Maintaining content on Center website.
- Supporting grant proposal submissions.
- Responsibilities include some administrative tasks such as general office support and helping with preparations for large research meetings.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :**

Education/Training: BA required, preferably in the social sciences
Work Experience: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail; bilingual Spanish skills; strong writing, typing, and editing skills are required

The Research Assistant (RA) program at the Boston Fed is a two-year program designed for recent college graduates with a background in economics, math, statistics, or related fields. RAs work with economists on a variety of research projects and provide support for ongoing analysis of the New England, U.S., and global economies and monetary policy, as well as bank regulation, the payments system and financial markets.
Positions are available in our Research Department starting in June 2026. The Research Department provides current economic analysis and policy advice to Federal Reserve decision makers and conducts innovative research with the aim of improving our understanding of the regional, U.S. and global economies and encouraging better policy outcomes.

RA Responsibilities
Review, organize, and analyze economic and financial data.
Write programs using statistical software such as STATA, MATLAB, R, SAS or Python

The CRC is a resource to investigators providing excellent clinical research nursing, specialized testing, a research bionutrition program, and clinical research coordination assistance. Using modern techniques of study design, data acquisition, and data analysis, research protocols are implemented, while maintaining the high standard of patient care for which the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is known. The staff of the Clinical Research Center uses a collaborative practice model designed to respond to the care requirements of the CRC patient population.
Job Summary: Collaborates with the investigator team to provide research clinical support and care. In the context of research protocols, the Medical Assistant - Research performs a wide variety of activities during participant visits in a research setting. The position involves extensive interaction with diverse populations including research study teams, study participants, medical staff practitioners and medical center personnel. The Medical Assistant - Research works under the direction of the research study investigators, study physician and/or nurse to perform clinical activities in the context of a research protocol. This position will not perform activities requiring licensure. Essential Responsibilities:
As requested performs a variety of research support activities such as vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, monitoring study participants, set up utilization and take down of physiologic equipment to provide quality collection, downloading and export of data.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Healthcare related field or Medical Assistant certification required.
Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required., or must obtain BLS within 60 days of hire.
0-1 years related work experience required in medical assisting or similar.
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
