Position SummaryThe Research, Reporting and Data Associate will support and enhance the Development and Donor Services teams capacity for data integrity, research and analysis. This individual will monitor and maintain the accuracy and consistency of constituent and activity data entered into the Salesforce database as well as conduct research on donors and prospects for the Development and Donor Services team.
Essential Functions- Coordinate constituent and activity data management in Salesforce, in collaboration with the Philanthropy Operations Officer;
- Serve as a key departmental resource for the Salesforce database and various reporting needs;
- Monitor and uphold data integrity protocols to ensure accurate reporting and inform departmental activities, in collaboration with colleagues;
- Create, run, and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports and dashboards in Salesforce to monitor data integrity and consistency related to donor and prospect activities, gifts, and grants;
- Conduct research and create research briefings on individuals and organizations to support donor stewardship as well as prospect identification and qualification for the Development and Donor Services team;
- Work closely with the IT team to identify duplicate records in the Salesforce database and resolve integration issues;
- Maintain prospect and donor research files, updating periodically as needed;

The clinical trial research associate/data manager will be an integral member of the research team in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and the Department of Surgery. This position will provide support for these departments by performing activities which are vitally important to establish the research core for the department, as well as to grow and foster innovation through research support endeavors. The clinical trial research associate/data manager will apply clinical skills to administer, deliver, and evaluate research protocols.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Perform community-based clinical/health care research activities in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and the Department of Surgery.
- Monitor our site's participation in clinical research projects.
- Assist in the design, development, execution, administration and maintenance of protocols and clinical studies and provide input into descriptions of complex research procedures.
- Assist participants with problems related to protocol.
- Participate in the design; development and testing of clinical research trial data systems.
- Acts as a liaison between health care clinical information systems and research data systems.
- Manage and organize regulatory documentation.
- Prepare regulatory submissions.
- Participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.
- Assist with tracking and reconciling grant/trial budget free balances and identify opportunities to ensure that grant funding is being used as intended and awarded.

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a Health Science field or an equivalent combination of education and research experience.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical research or related experience.
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience writing manuscripts for publication.
- Experience with REDCap, Epic, ICart, and ACCESS.
- Previous experience in data collection and entry.
- Experience in processing research regulatory documents.
- The ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
- The ability to travel for clinical research activities.
- Prior work experience in academic medicine, healthcare, or research organization

The Slomka Laboratory focuses on developing innovative methods for fully automated analysis of nuclear cardiology data using novel algorithms and machine learning techniques, and on the development of integrated motion-corrected analysis of positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) angiography imaging.
The Research Associate Data Scientist participates in biomedical research projects using programming, data mining, statistics, machine -learning, and visualization techniques to develop, evaluate, and/or apply algorithms and software for data analysis. Responsibilities include querying databases, data processing, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, deploying production models, and communication of scientific findings via peer-reviewed publications and scientific conferences. Writes clean, performant, reusable code managed on GitHub to perform repeatable analyses and to train and deploy models to multiple environments.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Assists with the development, evaluation, and/or application of computational and statistical methods including artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms and software for the analysis of biomedical data.
+ Assists with the presentation and communication of scientific results through laboratory meetings, scientific conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
+ Creates database-to-deployment pipelines for models using the necessary programming languages (primarily Python, R, C++).
+ Creates sustainable data science infrastructure and adheres to data analysis/machine learning standard processes.
+ Performs exploratory data analysis to gauge the need for or appropriateness of advanced analytical methods.
+ Works with senior or lead data scientists, research programmers, and principal investigators to identify areas where data science can best be applied to answer biomedical research questions.
+ Tests and validates code to ensure adaptability of data applications.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
**Department-Specific Responsibilities:**
+ Participates in the development of innovative algorithms and analytical methods.
+ Participates in the evaluation and interpretation of all analytical methods and results.
+ Participates in the oral and written communication of scientific results including publications.
+ Participates in analytical training activities for faculty, staff, and students.
**Qualifications**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Imaging, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or related field, required.
+ Master's degree in these fields is preferred.
**Experience and Skills:**
+ Up to two (2) years of professional experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries working with biomedical data.
+ Experience programming at an intermediate to advanced skill level with a high-level programming language such as Python, C++, or R.
+ Experience in biomedical machine learning is preferred.
