Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours/week Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am, 3 -12 hours shifts; w/rotating weekends and holidays Location: AdventHealth LaGrange Hospital 5101 WILLOW SPRINGS RD, La Grange, 60525 The role youll contribute: The Patient Care Tech works under supervision of the professional nurse, assisting in performing specific duties and activities of daily living in caring for age specific groups identified in the position responsibilities. Adheres to the AdventHealth Orlando Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value youll bring to the team: Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealths Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organizations Performance Excellence Program. Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member by performing patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse. Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Participates in obtaining a nursing history. Reports abnormalities to RN. Assists in identifying needs and developing/modifying plan of care. Performs treatments according to policy and procedure. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity and culture. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs handwashing according to policy and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade skills. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined in AHCA rule 59A-7.034, must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of AdventHealth Orlando non-waived Point of Care training. Responsibilities
The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office, preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
