About the role

We are looking for a creative and passionate Machine Learning (ML) / Deep Learning (DL) Engineer to join the Roku TV team. You will explore Picture Quality (PQ) and Audio Quality (AQ) improvements using AI in a resource-constrained environment, pushing the limits of what is possible in TV technology. Additionally, this role will involve applying state-of-the-art ML techniques to different PQ and AQ related tasks. You will play a critical role in building scalable systems and algorithms that enhance streaming experiences for millions of users worldwide.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.   • Explore and implement AI-driven Picture Quality and Audio Quality improvements for Roku TV
  • Apply advanced ML techniques in the optimization of models to enhance video and audio processing pipelines

Responsibilities

Own large/complex features having impact outside own areas of expertise. Overall responsibility (architecture, design, feature work, quality) for product. Consults regularly for the multiple areas of functionality within expertise. Reinvents how related activities are conducted in new, innovative, revolutionary ways - leads change. Develop strategies for product evolution.

Qualifications

You have:
  • BSCS, or similar is required. Work experience in related areas is a plus.
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience working in a professional capaciity.
  • IP network fundamentals, including network architecture, routing protocols,
  • MPLS network fundamentals
  • Advanced operating system fundamentals, including kernel operations, scheduling, memory management, semaphores
  • Data structure and algorithm fundamentals, including use cases, performance analysis.
  • Person should have hands on experience with Software development on routers.
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Excellent programming skills in C or C++
  • Experience developing on protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, LDP, BGP, PCEP,
  • Experience analyzing and improving existing protocol specifications.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies Dockers/Containers etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of complex software design for distributed systems in embedded networking/telecommunications projects.
  • Experience with design and development of Layer 2, Layer 3, networking control and/or data plane software.
  • Linux scheduling and memory management expertise will be a huge plus
  • Experience in designing and developing programmable management interfaces using gNMI, NETCONF, etc.

Role & Responsibilities

As an L2/L3 Software Development Engineer at Versa Networks, you will be a critical member of the platform team working with the engineering group. You will work on developing and testing the latest networking products and technologies. While your primary responsibilities would be the development of switching/routing products, you are expected to be knowledgeable on Networking and L2/L3 technologies. We expect you to have hands-on experience in software development methodologies and usage of tools.
  • Work with engineering teams to develop and debug new features
  • Write/maintain design and architecture documents
  • Improve performance, scalability, and features of the product
  • Help improve product quality and performance through regular technical feedback
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience in switching/routing/security companies.
  • Candidate MUST have strong hands-on experience in C/Linux and debugging skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Datapath/Infra/Platform engineering
  • Prior knowledge in Switching/Routing/L2-L7 services is highly desirable.
  • Working experience on the data plane/control plane is highly desirable
  • Working experience on Broadcom Trident, and Tomahawk NPUs is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience using traffic generator tools such as IxLoad, Spirent TestCenter, etc will be a plus
